Half-Life: Deathmatch BORG_ENCOUNTER_RO

This map is in development still and is going to recieve a major rebuild due to R_speed issues and engine limitations. The original concept was going to be two ships both borg and fedreation that a player could teleport between amist a huge battle. Most likely it will end up being two separate levels. This level uses an awesome assortment of custom textures and wav files including trek background music.

Has some custom sounds [ recorded by me :D] and textures.

Half-Life: Deathmatch Persian Letters

RELEASED AUGUST 2004. People's Choice of 2004 Snarkpit Competition.
To install: open "persia" in the .zip, and extract the 5 or 6 folders into "valve". I don't know why it's even in "persia", I'm stupid.

When I played Prince of Persia, what really stuck out for me was the level design. All of it was very seamless and connected - you had a genuine feeling of where you were going throughout the palace and it all seemed like one place. Flash forward a few months. I slave away at the last second and barely pump out a map for the competition. I'm such an idiot!

Half-Life: Deathmatch Fire Arena

Small arena with no "weapons of mass destruction" and heavy need of balance and jumping habilities.

The arena has two basic levels:
  • The "ground floor is a square area with two opposing protected areas protected by doors that will stay closed 30s after beeing opened, some obstacules, and four "islets" that allow the player to climb to the upper level;
  • The upper level consists in 4 lightly protected platforms with "a nice view" of the area... ;)
The crosbows are a great choice for the ones who can pick and keep them. Good look for those who will try!

The map was designed for four players, but It was tested with six guys... It worked fine allright, but I guess it won?t stand bigger crowds.

3/Nov - The weapon placement was changed, two doors added and the lighting was altered. The killing lava that surrounds the level now emmits light (red hot light) and the general light from the sky was changed for a light green. The idea is that one is safer staying as above the others as possible.

4/Nov - the lighting was changed. The testers hated the green light... Well, its fixed. The stairs in the pillars received real stairs, people were in trouble locating the place the allowed the climbing.

8/Nov - the lighting was changed again. Now its final.

Well... Its done. Quick and dirty work, not a thing of beauty. But its supposed to be fun. Enjoy.

A conversion of an Unreal map, which I decided to knock up one weekend when I had nothing better to do. This one is an oldie (my 2nd map) so please don't tell me how crap, or dark it is :) Again, apologies for the dark screenshots - new ones soon. I'm considering a remake of this map after i've finished my current project...

Half-Life: Deathmatch heartspark

Hmm...I wouldn't recommend downloading this map unless you really want to see how my first attempt at mapping came out. Gamplay-wise, its not to bad with 4-5 players, but any more than that and it just gets crowded. For such a small map, it took a long time to build! Look out for all the cliches...sniper tower, crates, dark sewer bit...sand bags, and my favourite...wafer-thin walls!

Half-Life: Deathmatch dm_rampart

This map started off as a second map for the recent Snarkpit mapping contest, to give me a little break from my main entry...but this one ended up being my main entry as the other wasn't ready in time. It has a cartooney castle kinda theme, with subtle lighting and colours to add to the fairytale theme. It started off as a simple small arena but grew into the monster that it is now - with 4 storeys, as I was a little worried it was too small...but it's probably a tad too big now! Weapon placement was graciously and expertly done by ReNo to great effect :)

Half-Life: Deathmatch DmCore

This map is a Sci-fi map i made during the times i have been bored the last month.
Textures are from wadfather and very nice guy called Fox1.

The map looked quite different in the beginning due to lots of good comments Ive had from my friends and from you here at snarkpit.
Ive remade it quite alot to the better of course.

NOTE that the screenies are very dark compared with the ingame experience.
