add:
  • Professors who spell and pronounce words wrong publicly, when
the words pertain to the subject they teach. like my Algebra teacher
who called a matrix a "Matrice" pronounced "matri-see"</li>
if you're refering to Cantrell, i have never heard her mispronounce the singular so it was probably a slip

David Bowie(Don't flame me, I just gotta be me)

Sloppy mapping

The semicolon, in and of itself, commas are much better

People who hate popular culture, simply because it's popular

The FOX network(wth, man, why Futurama?!)

Disney

McDonalds, Burger King, Fast food on principle

IRT NickelPlate/Cassius

Maybe he's just doing that sarcasm thing

add:

How you can't tell whether or not someone's being sarcastic in text.(Subtle sarcasm is wasted on the written word)

White, suburbanite kids who think they're "gangsta rappas"

<DIV class=quotetext>Absolutely un-called-for, Cassius. Why would you even say something like that?

People who have to put other people down to make themselves feel better about thier own insecurities.

</DIV></DIV>Oh, I'm insecure to the bones - so much so that I'm responding defensively to your accusation of insecurity, with, I might add, tears in my eyes. And in doing so, I only aggravate such perceptions, ill-conceived though they may be. And it's because you insulted Orpheus. Yes, I began a sentence with an interjection, as you will undoubtedly reference in your countering reply of corrections to this post, which, you will assume, I took great pains to make lofty in tone. Even though I don't have FOX in my country, I totally agree with you about that Futurama cartoon. It should really be shown after 23:00 o'clock. They show that to kids? All that sex talk and everything in that cartoon is completely under-rated.

Another thing i hate:

People who place things like their ethnicity ahead of their own humanity.

Soul-less violent acts.

the destruction of innocence in any form

the unbearable slowness of evolution

rappers who refer to themselves as musicians (not counting the few actual talented ones)

The popularity of Michael Bay films(Yes, thats a good one Crono)

traffic

The Bush administration in general

the current popular concept of "celebrity", and awards shows.

reality television(most notably: "doing anything at all" with the stars)

mtv (honestly, I don't get it but I am old now)

driver conflicts in windows.

the cost of living index.

the cost of living period.

stress

toothaches

flakey sub-contractors.

Friendships.. I understood why Cassius posted, even before I got into this thread. Somehow I just knew. On some level, we just connect well.

I really don't want harsh feelings because of me though. If people fight, please let it be for some reason other than one old fool who insist on hanging out with people half his age. People fighting over me is one thing. People fighting because of me... Makes me feel like a.. An asshole.

Thanx Cass.

Why the hell do you come back once in a blue moon to berate other members and cause strife, Cass? The only posts I've seen from you this time around are some pompous comments with no purpose other than to insult. You speak of finding use of the semicolon annoying as it is only serving the purpose of making people look sophisticated; what's the reason for you wording every post like it's your psychology thesis then?

Yeah, a lot of the old timers have gone and new members have taken their place - deal with it. I'm sad to see people go too, but condemning new members simply for being new is just bringing down the tone of the community for everybody.

Doubleyou tee eff, Reno. I was shooting for being ironic and wittily self-effacing - specifically, here
retarded, much like most of the Snarkpit's newbies and younger population; condescending, judgmental elitists
and here:
wanton usage of the semicolon to convey sophistication;
So, that wasn't just coincidental that I spoke
of finding use of the semicolon annoying as it is only serving the purpose of making people look sophisticated
while at the same time using it to make myself look sophisticated - that was the point. I don't really know Nickelplate. It's just my tendency to defend people I respect.

No s**t. The search for "why" is irresistible, but generally fruitless in the end. It's always good to learn something form life's tragedies, but in the case of a woman's mind... save yourself the pain of trying to understand.

Dunno if this is what you meant but, I hate it when people try to subdivide "Americans" into classes of distinction.

There are ONLY two kinds of American. "Native American" and "American"

There are no Japanese Americans or African Americans or any of the other crappy titles they seem to be spawning these days. Either you are born American, or you are an Indian. There are no other kinds.

Is that what you meant?

In a sense, yes.

I grow weary of people who, no matter what the specifics might be, pick one aspect of themselves and wear it like a badge wherever they go.

Their heritage,

or their sexuality

or their religion, etc.

These things become all that they are and then they seperate themselves from the rest of the world.

Stance? Never really thought about it. I am not against it if thats what you mean.

My earlier comment was directed at people born here whom, for whatever reason want to add their geneolgy into the equation.

I am not against imigration at all I don't guess. I am against illigal entance, or whatever it is when you are here working/living but are not an American citizen.

<DIV class=quotetext>These things become all that they are and then they seperate themselves from the rest of the world.</DIV></DIV>This disgusts me, too - some people just have the reflex to fit in somewhere, as though they can't make an identity for themselves - so they choose something to identify with.

There are certain kinds of people in certain places who are somehow distinct - racially, religiously, whatever - from the mainstream of their culture. And whether they like it or not, they are going to experience that distinction, that separation - and so, they identify with that.

That's perfectly legitimate, I think. But actively choosing to be part of one group or another as though you do so because you need to add some substance to your life and character is stupid. If you have the option, you should identify only with yourself, your own experiences and ideas.

I've found another thing that pisses me off.

Opening my bank statement to find over ?700 worth of transactions that I know absolutely nothing about. Some wanker has used my details to top up their mobile phone to the tune of ?220, and treated themselves to various clothes and music. The brazen bastard has also used it to get printed copies of digital pics, to the tune of ?200.

All in the hands of the fraud squad now. I'm a little worried about whether or not I'll be held liable for the debts. Hopefully not.... :/

Cheers guys. The card that was hit is tied to an overdraught type account that I've had for years, but never had any need to use it. It's only in the past month or so that it's been brought out of mothballs, and it's only been used in a few places. The way that I see it at the moment, there are only two or three possible places that my details could have been lifted from. So hopefully, with fewer possible suspects, it might even give the fraud-squad a good chance of catching the culprit/s.

Sorry about the credit card thing, Fishy. I'm sure it'll turn out to be alright.

I went into the pool hall with some of the russians and when i came out, we got into my car and the console was open and my FlashDrive was gone. Not my phone, not my keys to work, not the $50 in quarters I've got in there, not my cigars, NOTHING but my flash drive. It was a sweet model LG 1GB drive. It was silver and black. So if any of you have seen it let me know. I'm not too angry about it or anything, It was just a bit disappointing. I suppose the guy that stole it needed it more than me.
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Maybe one of the Russians took your flash drive on their way out of your car. Dmitri... he has the shady eyes.
One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

Dima was not there that night. There was an old keychain from my console OUTSIDE the car when we got out there...

Meh...

I hate it when people kill insects for no good reason, just from malice! It might sound mad but I love insects more then humans.

Humans are so infirior ro insects, they can't even fly!

Sorry about your flash drive. Thifes piss me off.
