it seems fair enough to me, as long as each shool district gets equal funding. doesn't the move empower local communities, that would normally be a minority, to have a greater input into the schooling of their children?

In the end the only thing that matters is that the students get an education. Integration, or the lack of it isn't the issue. I pulled both of my son's out of public schools because the teachers were just not doing a satisfactory job. It was the hardest decision I had to make for them. Kids need the interaction of other kids. Good and bad, the interaction teaches them to be less socially repressed.
Anyway, if people would concentrate less on the devision of races, and more on the lack of decent teachers, we would be miles ahead.
Arkansas closed every school with an attendance of less than 500 pupils and integrated them into neighboring school districts. The poor kids are bussed sometimes hours before they arrive to school and again to home.
Hours of riding isn't the answer.

The problem with this is that the kids won't get the social diversity they need to grow up to be open minded individuals. By segregating them it only shows they they are not equal human beings. They are going back in time and reversing all the hard work that blacks and others went through to make this country equal for everyone.
P.S. I don't read everyon's posts so if someone has already stated this then I'm sorry.

And minority blacks/hispanics will go school and get bullied every day. Works both ways.

maybe the link took me to a different article than the one some of you seem to have read, but there was no mention of taking children out of the schools that they are already attending. if anyone is in a minority at their school, then they remain in the minority. nothing changes as far as that is concerned. the only change is to take all of the schools that have similar cultural requirements, and group them under the same leadership. doesn't that make sense?

You know, I honestly expected someone to argue my last post.
Either, I finally said something thats agreeable, or, you guys have given up on me.
I hope, I finally said something right. It would be nice for a change.

Orph is slightly more than a moderator. :heee:
Why act surprised? I am an arse, but I am hardly unqualified.
Besides, its about time we had a yin, for all the yangs around here.

I requested to assist Gwil and Reno. Their schedules are so hectic that it seemed very unfair to have the competition entirely placed upon their shoulders. They are tough, but not invincible.
I just wanted to help.

He may skin you alive, but in a loving way I am sure. He will more than likely use the available material to cover his scabs. Love is a powerful thing Gwil.
And..
No one got my pun/joke... AGAIN!!
Dangit. Using humor on you folks is hard as hell. I begin to doubt its me cause no one can fake it for as long as you people have.
