I'm curious whether it's better than DOD in terms of gameplay.

My only qualm with this game is that it used to be a free mod for Unreal Tournament. The gameplay never was too great either. Not anything near DoD. But, I don't know what they've changed since it became stand alone.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

It was late one night and I had 20$ on a free gift card from a
realitive. So I bought it. I played it, and didn't care for it much.

I don't mean to highjack this thread, but Natural Selection Source is
going to be another mod gone corporate (you'll buy it for 20$ or so)

<span style="color: lightblue;">Don't be so sure about me buying it... <span style="color: white;">
I know those people need to live, but the idea behind mods is that you
buy the game and then extend its life by downloading community made free
modifications. I bet we won't get any good mods soon because everyone
thinks they can sell their mod for silly amounts of cash. I am one
of those people who get games like HL2 and Doom 3 mainly because
they're moddable and I can get more than that designated 10 hours of
gamplay through those mods. But now that more and more mods are going
down the commercial route, I'm starting to think that I'm getting
buttf**ked here... I can't get my gametime extension free anymore. [/end of rant]

As for the original topic: It doesn't seem attractive enough
game to download and play for just five days(in the worst case
scenario).

Nooo, our glorious collective
organizations have been seduced by the decadent corporations and their
capitalist-imperialist views.

Every wondered why the engine's editor is called Hammer ?
That's right, add a sickle, and you know who's been buying out all these mods. Gmod, NS, ... Mash that dirty red scum !

I'll be playing RO during this event, if it's good I'll probably buy it. I like the concept of the game, hopefully it lives up to what I'm expecting.

I remember picking up the RO box and looking at the back images -- the large, spacious environment looked nice (at lesat, I think I saw a few of those!) I'd be a nice change to have plenty of moving space for once

I'll probably try it out during this event though -- I got no idea how good it's going to be in turns of gameplay :x
Breaking the laws of mapping since 2003 and doing a damn fine job at it

I wont have a chance to try this game out, but I hope some people will post their opinions about it after the free week.
