Online: Armed Assault (specifically the Capture the Island mods)

Offline: Civilization IV

edit: for those unfamiliar with Armed Assault, 8 seconds is enough to
sell you. Here we see a US marine watching as a fellow player (could be
AI with bombing like that) pilots a Harrier and lays the smack down on
Paraiso.

BOOM.

Needless destruction in an Abrams

The only downside to the game is in a single sitting games can last hours, the island is like 200km2 of terrain.

Armed Assault looks spiffy, judging by the purty graphfikz it looks like you need a heluva compy to run it though.

Snickers sir you are indeed correct, it eats resources - I run on
normal on a pretty decent box for acceptable outputs. Apparently the
new beta patch gives lower end machines something of a reprieve though,
which is good news.

I haven't tried Supreme Commander but it's come highly recommended from
friends, aside from that issue that like Armed Assault, it eats
resources..

When I get off this forum and write the last 120 words of a scholarship application, I want to play some Team Fortress. At the current rate it'll probably take a few hours.

I try to open my mind for more online action but for now the game i really play consistently is still, after all these years, counter strike, and i've tried World of Warcraft for a while but due to some income problems i quit that for now hehehe.

I want to try some counter strike source, hl2dm and ns are a bit too hyper for me, i want to take a look at tfc2 when it comes out.

How the hell did you manage to get R63 to go on to internet servers? Last time I tried to play on the internet, it gave me days of BS about my e-mail address, and how I couldn't use a previous one because it was already registered and all that.

Sadly, once I did get a new e-mail address, R63 still refuses to connect to the internet :/ I should try it again, though...

Anyhow. I was alarmed at how nobody seems to play EvE Online -- best MMORPG I've played without a doubt. It's a bit.. technical though. If you do happen to play, look up Madam Dinahkarr  I'd love to do a low level mission with someone (never did get past Lvl1 agents. Haha.)

Apart from that, I also play a lot of Zdaemon, which is basically multiplayer Doom (COOP, CTF, FFA, Team DM, 1on1, and a new mode called KTC Beta.) A must have for any doomer. You can naturally find me as G.Ballblue.

What else? I play Sven Coop from time to time, but the lack of any good maps and that most maps are just copies of each other has begun to sag on the feel of the game for a while. Plus, Sven Coop can come off as quite weak when compared to, you guessed it, Doom Coop.

Brief random list, unlike the stuff mentioned above:

HL1
CS:S
Diablo II
EvE
Zdaemon
Race (WTCC Game. Very difficult, but quite fun if you manage to develop some skill.)

That's about all I remember for now
Breaking the laws of mapping since 2003 and doing a damn fine job at it

I'm hosting a LAN party this Saturday, and these are some of the PC games that we will be playing:

Battle Field 2
Age of Empires III
Age of Empires II (conqueror's expansion)
Rise of nations (gold edition)
Counter-strike (1.6 or Source)
Day of Defeat (1.6 or Source)
Half-Life2 Death match
Civilization IV (Warlord's expansion if possible)
Doom 3 multiplayer
Homeworld 2
Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars 3
Command and Conquer generals (zero hour if possible)
Team Fortress Classic 1.6
Unreal Tournament 2004
Call of Duty 2
Source Forts
Medieval Total War 2
BattleField 1942
BattleField Vietnam
Empire Earth 2
Enemy territory

There will be 7 PC's and 5-7 Xbox 360's (1 or 2 regular Xboxes). I don't own all of those games, but the most that I do own I play online sometimes (not so much Civ IV cause it takes WAY too long!)

Homeworld 2 is a good choice.

Ballblue, I know. Ubi absolutely sucks. They spend more time securing their games than they do actually making the bloody thing. And then they quit supporting it. R63 is infamous for ghost tangos and doorframe lag...

G.BallBlue - Zdaemon Sucks!, Heh sorry ive played the Nemesis of sorts (Skulltag) of that for awhile ive tried both and i really like Skulltag better.

I could get into how Zdaemon was reffered to the Nazi's of the doom community but yeah no discussion

Really i used to be deep into the doom community.
