Hello,What do you think? I am gonna cancel it, because I am not gonna loose my account over 20 bucks, considering I have way more tied up into it than that.

Hello Jefferey, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. We have recently received notification from PayPal that two of your recent Steam Purchases have been disputed. The Steam account has been locked while the disputes arebeing investigated by PayPal. It is important for you to contact PayPal or log in to your PayPal account and go to your “Resolution Center” to resolve these disputes. If the disputes are closed and the funds are released back to Steam, the account will be reactivated. However, if PayPal closes the dispute cases by “Reversing the Payment”, meaning they send the funds for the purchase back to you, the Steam account will remain locked and you will lose access to all of the games on the account. There are no options to resolve a dispute once PayPal has closed the case, so we suggest that you contact them immediately at 888-221-1161. PayPal Help Center https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Muhnay said:From PayPal's perspective it was legit. Your son knew your password, and your other account information (like a PIN or answer to security question). SInce paypal debits from your bank account its instant, and its not protected under the Credit Union Act, which allows you to dispute a charge on a credit card if you don't agree with it. Using paypal was like making a purchase with a debit card.
The Purchase wasn't legitimate...
That's the way valve is.I don't think thats right. Its not about ripping people off. Its about making sure someones not getting something for free. Sure someone in accounting can flip a switch and refund you the $$, but if you did that for the millions of mis-transactions a month O.o? They would be out of business. And I don't think Gabe really has any say in this kind of stuff. I mean Gabe himself answers emails to anyone who emails him (hes answered me twice).
"Hey what's the easiest way to suck money in from these poor people and rip them off?" -Gabe newell's idea of a business.
Muhnay said:Oh, sorry, I guess I shouldn't have left you hanging. It wasn't even a jab because I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but since you really did do a chargeback on a legit purchase before actually communicating your issue to Steam...
The Purchase wasn't legitimate... so his little jab at me starts off weak. but gotta give him an A effort.
Muhnay said:You are a goddamned moron who deserves whatever happens to your account.
And if So, what..

And I think what Yak was getting at was did you wait for Steam reps to respond to an email before disputing the charge? Most of the time if you accidentally make a purchase they refund your account (if it was credit - but this was debit, which makes things difficult). I know I made an over purchase on iTunes (no jokes please) and I emailed apple support (I had purchased an album twice). It took them a while to get back to me, but they refunded me my $$ and all was good with the world.
Muhnay said:lol I have no clue?
Just like always YAK, you have no fucking clue what your talking about..
EDIT: Oh and YAK ASS. It is fixed.. taken care of, refunded and everything.Wow gee whiz its fixed, well no shit it would eventually be. Too bad it took you over half a month with a locked account and a bunch of drivel posted on a website when it would have been fixed much sooner and easier if you only had a lick of common sense in your head. Can't wait to hear about you taking Burger King to court over pickles in your Whopper or some other stupidity.

Muhnay said:No, its not, you dumb moron.
Is that Irony?
Yak_Fighter said:Thank you very much for trying to twist what I said to make it look like I was telling him how to raise his kids. It shows what a manipulative little shit you are
You are entitled to your opinion.
Although, at least, I'm not trying to tell him how to raise his kids, which I personally would find far more offensive than any thousand word Yak_Fighter missive.
Thanks for contributing.
omegaslayer said:Better Yet, Doc Rock could come in and tell us all how fantastic his maps are and how freakin great we all aren't.
Now all we need is vash to throw in some strange humping comments, tracer bullet to throw in some gold ol' logic, and we'll have a ol' reunion party.

mazemaster said:I imagine the hold on the account is so the user can't modify the state of anything while they figure out what's going on.
I gotta side with Muhnay on this one. Steam may be legally right, but what they're doing is wrong. No corporation should be able to suspend someone's entire set of games over a dispute on a single one, with no judicial oversight.
If you dispute a credit card transaction in a brick-and-mortar store, the store employees can't come into your house and take back all of your games you ever bought.. that would be outrageous in real life, but somehow because it's online it's OK?

Although I must say, I would have just let the kid have the game,How else is that to be interpreted? If I were you, I would do X about your parenting situation. Oh but you appended a worthless qualifier to your statement like that even means anything:
I'm surprised you continue you're behaviour on a website that has such a little user group, you're only going to end up by yourself. What is 'my are' behavior, please elaborate. I truly cannot wait to find out.
"Orpheus" said:hahaha hey Orph how's it going?
I dunno about you, but I'd stay out of their issues cause telling Yak how you feel about him will only cause you grief in the end.
Yak_Fighter said:These kids are like clay soil Joe. Things seep in real slow. Fortunately for most it stays in once it penetrates.
hahaha hey Orph how's it going?
Yak_Fighter said:Why is mapping dead though?
(PS: it has such a little user group of good mappers because one nothing is happening on the Half-Life front and two mapping and modding is basically and lamentably dead, not because of what I post)
Muhnay said:Sadly, there's only one sure way to "handle" situations like you cause but my suggestion was politely declined. Looks like we have to deal with you until you do worse. I'm counting the days.
Riven please get a handle on this. Thanks.
Orpheus said:I simply chose to ignore the argument, it leads no where.
Dude, either you're learning or dense I dunno which if that was the only part of Yaks post you got.
Either you're willing to admit he had a point and graciously bowed out or something weird going on.
Besides, Snarkpit has survived several slack periods in the mapping scene and will keep doing so as long as people like Yak remain between times.
Orpheus said:Surely after someone has been around as long as Munhay you just like to reflect on the good old times and not get annoyed with one another anymore? He's not a bad guy you know, he lives in a rough area and has not had the best of lives, hell, nor have I, but that's irrelevant. And you guys need to drop the whole 'superior intellect' thing, it's really nerdy and distances yourselves away from nice people. No doubt you applied to ban Muhnay. If so then you are only hurting the community from that sentiment.
1st off its a public forum.
2ndly, you can rant but we aren't supposed to notice.?.?
3rdly did I mention its a public forum?
4th... No one, absolutely NO BODY got mad an called names but you, so be quiet and let us big kiddies play. You sit back and take notes on how exactly one goes about WINNING A DISCUSSION WITHOUT RESORTING TO NAMES!!!
Lastly, its public forum. We are not only allowed, but encouraged to discuss AT LENGTH, each and every instance of STUPID PEOPLE.Muhnay said:Sadly, there's only one sure way to "handle" situations like you cause but my suggestion was politely declined. I simply chose to ignore the argument, it leads no where.Anyone can see the destination. Its just one that leads to the place where poor debaters live.

Muhnay said:Both of you are right, to an extent... I now own the forums, and I can do what I want with them I suppose, but I treat them as public forums, and rarely ever consider having to lock anything... -In fact I'm proud I haven't had to. It's not an act of omission, I read everything that gets posted, I'm fully aware of the "reputation" our site emits... I too have been making casual efforts to expand our links and trade alliances with other sites. We're well within the "good place to visit" category among friends I believe.
You seem to think that this is a PUBLIC forum.. your wrong sir, you post here at the discretion of the owner of this site and only at his discretion, there is no free speech or even a right on a domain on the internet. That again shows your lack of intelligence you feel you have in spades over the likes of me and others.
