So, I got some tofu cakes the other day. It came on this special combo platter thing at the local Chinese supermarket. Lo and behold, there was a swatstika branded onto my tofu cake! Is this a symbol of neo-fascism emerging right under our noses in our local Asian supermarkets?! It's always where you least expect it...

This is why everyone should idle in #snarkpit on Quakenet. 'Tis utter
madness, but you get intellectual debate, right wing foods and general
madness.

Just in case you didn't know, the swatstika symbols origins lie far before Hitlers time.

Yes yes, an ancient symbol for peace, blah blah blah. But it's still creepy to see it on a tofu cake, more or less.

The swastika is the horizontally mirrored Chinese peace symbol. (so its technically not the same symbol)

It tasted pretty good, actually. Perhaps the satisfaction of devouring a fascist symbol of power? Plus it-!... Strange... energy... taking over... body... !! :leper:

Yeah, the Nazi version points right, the peace version is the opposite.

related topic?.. perhaps.

my wife has a seashell with a perfect image of what most would consider "Jesus" on it.

mind you, i am agnostic, so i don't apply any faith issues to my seeing the image.. i just look at it and say "you know, that looks just like those pictures you always see of the guy"

anywho's.. pictures seen in random objects are neato cool.

also possibly related:

once while driving to work, i saw a full, whole eastern sky covering representation of a "Phoenix" .. i had no camera available sadly, but the bird was flying directly into the sunrise.. it was without a doubt, the coolest cloud formation i had ever witnessed.. bright orange, and the only clouds in sight.. i actually pulled the car over and looked at it till it disipated..

the effect lasted from the time i noticed it to end... about 20 minutes. and... took absolutely no imagination to see the bird..

That sounds really good.

Once on a car journey I saw a very very bright light on the top of a hill. It seemed to be shining in all directions, and I couldn't make out any buildings or people... never had an idea as to what it was.

A friend of mine once found something that looked a whole lot like a Shiva Linga (a very religious symbol over here) in a jackfruit (in case you don't know what that is)...

out of respect for a dear friend, i will refrain from commenting on what i think this article looks like..

but, as i said, finding everyday object images in random items, are mucho coolness.

i found an image of a butterfly in a chunk of timber once..

we went camping one year and we were just out on the lake fishing (my family) when we hear this really weird noise, kinda like a high pitched screetch (like how a rocket sounds). we looked up and saw an object fly across the sky, looked like a rocket, but then it stopped, and went back the way it came REALLY fast. im not gonna say it was a UFO but it was definately something weird... everyone in the family saw it, and we all agreed that it was very odd. this lake wasn't by any army bases or anything (that we know of) and it was pretty much out in the middle of nowhere.

In other news, a stork/duck/swan animal (no idea what it is) was walking around on my lawn. I started taking some photos of it, then it wandered onto my neighbor's property. Poor thing. It'll most likely be run over by an SUV soon. From the look of its tail though, it looks semi-exotic. But then again I don't know anything about birds.

Yup, I can see how this startling breakthrough belongs in the same
thread as Nazi tofu  Seriously though, wierd looking animals
those aren't they? Somewhat otherwordly if you ask me, they just seem
too tall and skinny to be normal.

I don't think it's a stork... Or if it is, it's some weird type/other species.

there are many kinds of herons and storks..

i have seen pics in google that look like each..

/me wonders, did people mix up the pics, or are the birds related genetically??

i am inclined to defer my opinion to heron.. more of the pics resemble CJ's

i liked heron better, around here we call egrets "s**t Birds" cause they spend the day rifling through piles of doodoo.

still though, they all may be related on some level... other than being avain.
