Shack news, PHL, City 17 all reporting that HL2 now officially delayed.

It was an email from Doug Lombardi.

Sorry, don't have a link, but it's all over the place.

Officially delayed until the holiday season...when's that then? Christmas, Autumn half-term, Bonfire night?

Personally I don't mind waiting - gives me a chance to save up a bit of cash, and finish a bunch of games that I haven't got round to finishing yet (LOTS!).

Shame they didn't just say it was going to be delayed to begin with though...

...at least it isn't Blizzard. They take a minimum of 2 years it seems to release a game after the alleged release date.

LMAO...agreed.

sadly im not to worried about delays as my comps are currently well below the specs needed to play the game, however its gonna look BADAZZ on my bros sys.

delays dont always mean bad. infact i encourage the delays, lets me know their betatesters are doin their jobs, god i hate the release-then patch theory.

well as long as it comes out before Doom III i guess were good.  Then again, as far as I know the only thing Doom has going for it is it's lighting

Er, and the whole setting, and the monsters, and the possibly more deformable scenery than in HL2?

I'd quite like HL2 to come out after Doom3, since Doom3 will no doubt set the standard for hardware; I don't want to get a new PC before Doom 3, and I don't want to play HL2 on this old thing.

I want it to come out ASAP - I've been waiting long enough to get properly started on ELVA
