Post some pics of yourselves. No! Not those pics! The ones that won't get Lep arrested. Head and shoulder shots are typically the best. To get things started, here's a photo of me that appeared in our school paper's story on pirated music.

So um, if you post yours too, or just make fun of mine, then it'll be fun and we can be like all the other forums with a thread like this.

We've had several of these threads before and I've never gotten around to posting.  I shall make amends.

i know its kinda rude, but it just has me in stitches to hear the accents from over there.. the US has almost as many of them as it has states (could be the fact that most states are bigger than the whole freakin country over there  ) but every time i hear someone talking from there, it all sounds the same.. a bunch of Beatles wannabes

its just rare to come across it over here, i have an advantage of travel with my job, and i hear them all...

new york and new jersey are the worse.. maine is my favorite..

california has several all their own, most suck... and georgia.. only sucks a little bit :heee:

the US sure has a bunch of them tho

with everyones permission, i would like to save your pics for my album...

on a personal note, threads like this IMO help draw a community together, but it also poses questions, that under some circumstances might be construed wrongly..

for instance.. privacy aside... judging from the present pics posted, am i to take it that half-life is a Caucasian game only? yeah it really is unimportant, and i truly believe that, but it makes you wonder, are only white people comfortable posting pics of themselves.. true, any one of us could post fictitious images, but still why all of the same race and gender for that matter .. :/

another question one asks, now that i have a face to hook to the text, do i see them differently.. personally i have to say yes, not because i felt them inferior prior, but i have to respect someone more, whom trusts me with their realism...

i don't like anyone any less for not posting a pic, but i do see things differently with a face attached..

also, i have noticed one thing.. the images seem to depict people older than their words imply.. many of you talk/type IMO much younger than you are... that may be because i am almost 2 times older than most of you, but still.... i now see many of you as older than the mental image i had before today... is that a good thing?? well i guess thats really up to you now isn't it

cough. I'm Asian, Orph. Of course you can't tell from my picture, but I made the unfortunate mistake of telling people my real name, in which case, you can easily tell.

I think maybe you are reading too much into the relative lack of diversity. after all, whites are the majority race in english speaking countries. this has been a very small population sample, and therefore statisticaly unfavorable for showing diversity.

as for the gender thing, how many women do you know who play halflife, let alone map? in my experience, even gals who enjoy video games don't go for bloody shooters. they are more apt to enjoy RTS, RPG, and adventure style gameplay.

totaly off topic:

bud, if you could name a race, that isn't someplace within my family i would kiss your butt on broadway..

i am prolly the one person you will ever meet, who never thinks about race first, or second, or at all for that matter when it comes to individuality..

as strange as that may sound, considering my narrow views on sexual orientation, i have always been of a mind, that racism is a self defeating outlook that never wins..

bottomline, you may retain your privacy, but you can always feel comfortable that, i for one couldn't care less what race you are, its whats on the inside that counts.. if you are cool, you are cool, if you are.. uncool, well you can guess

Ok, now to make fun of everyone (as of course that is the point)

Orph - you look like a drugged out guy about to be wheeled into kidney surgery

Gollum - why are you climbing around inside someone's small intestine?

Tracer Bullet - sorry, no witty comments, that's too close to what I wish my biochemistry courses actually were like

Juim - apparentally you need to see yourself all the time so you carry a picture of yourself around attached to your shirt

Campaignjunkie - who are you, Barbra Streisand?

Grimlock - I would think there's a better place for your studio than in the middle of a forest

Crackerjack - Dude, where's my camera?

Gorb - I'd make fun of you, but I can't stop laughing at the incredibly jetlagged guy in front of you.

Gimp - your nephew appears to be the spawn of satan, or at least some sort of feral hell creature

Lep - Wow, I didn't realize your condition was so bad your head has slid down to being horizontal. Must be tough walking.

Monqui - I really expected no less

Wildcard - I hope you wake up before take off...

CCS - Who told you you could be a pirate anyway?

[EDIT] Looking at this picture, I see that it looks like I've got tits, huge time... However, I weigh 140 pounds, so that's somewhat impossible.

i do not intend this as mean as it sounds, but the answer is, ditch the webcam.. of all the pics i have seen taken with them, its a common issue..

i use my digi-camera, which doubles as a webcam, and the shots are at least as clear as the images i posted in the other thread, about the textures..

the main issue, at least the way i understand it is, the low light and the fact that it is flickering at 120 times a second, royally screws with the conventional webcam.. plus the fact that most webcams optimize the images to shoot them over the net as easily as possible.. they don't do a very good job BTW..

anyways, theres my 2 cents.. take it or leave it

More poor insults

Cassius: That's one weird shaped photo. I'm not even gonna ask what's going on in the cropped-out portion.

2dmin: I think I saw you on Nickelodeon once...

Schmung: Beer in a coca-cola glass? That's like putting a real car engine in a power wheels...

Dietz: I think you buy your shirts a few sizes too small just to look tough.

Rumple: I see you have your glasses just in case you get that phone call that Keanu Reeves is on his deathbed and they need someone to play Neo immediately.

s**t Dietz, you and me are the biggest ones here... 6'1, though I don't look it in the photo. I'm in the mood to kick CCS' ass (notice how he makes fun of everyone else's pictures while neglecting to post his own).
