Put up your hand if you have an unhealthy obsession with a fictional superhero! You did very well with those colours, I tried my hand at flatshading and eventually had to admit defeat. Nice work.

Yep, old screenshots, I added a bunch more detail since then. I will update the pics soon. Its a combo of the music, gameplay and flying that give it the superman feel...most of which you cant get from a screenshot.

LOL is the first thing I have to say about this map. Cool idea, sorta reminds me of the MrT map, but with some actual work put into the structure of the map.

I thought the theme was pretty cool for what it is. I got the feeling of this being a museum to Superman, with sound bites, famous pictures, and areas where you can actually be 'Superman', all that cheesy s**t they have at crappy museums. Well pulled off theme in that sense. The texturing was kinda repetitive and lame, but it did add to that sense of it being a tourist trap. I doubt it'll make a strong DM map, however, but I didn't play it so I dunno. All in all its a decent effort.

Christopher Reeves can feel in his finger and toe tips now I believe... And hes going under the nerve treatment where ther implant stem cells into ur nervous cord in hope they'll bridge the gap so he can walk again or something, but its a while off yet I think.

What's your obsession with the LJ? I'm sure i've seen a comment by you on all the competition maps that don't have it...

But surely not essential to a map?
Mind you, saying that, I tend to forget i've got it when playing DM as i'm too busy concentrating on staying alive
EDIT: Regarding the map, I quite liked it, and the superman flying bit was a nice gimmick. Having shadows possibly spoilt the flat coloured look a little but it was still pretty cool  Kinda felt like I was running around a big lego fort at times too  I think that was due to the choice of colours (red, yellow and blue were more or less the standard lego colours here in the UK).

Getting the LJ should be your first priority when playing HLDM - when playing against decent opposition its your only chance of staying alive really.

I wish.
No, I actually dont like superman that much. But the contest called for a theme and Superman was the first thing I thought of. Sooo, I guess its a good thing that everyone keeps asking me if I am a superman nut, right? That means I got the theme across fairly well in the map. Either that or maybe I am just crazy...
excuse me, but I have to get my superman outfit outta the dryer.

IMO, this map should have been the clear winner of the SP contest.
'course, this is my opinion, and I'll be flamed for it, but meh.
JMW - Well done map - very fun playable enjoyable map. I thought it was the best "themed" map of the contest.
Can't wait to see more maps from you ^^

Orph, shut up. Doc is perfectly entitled to his opinion; I thought it had a pretty damn good 'twist' to it and if it had been made "a bit better" then it could have won (quite how I don't know, but that's not my job  )

[edited out],
i don't think this forum is mature enough to understand my grief when it comes to downs.. but.. remember this always.. i consider it the pinnacle of mean to post screens, or otherwise be mean to them.
