What's the most popular file sharing application with young folk these
days? I usually use torrents, but sometimes I'm after a particular
song. I was searching for a Johnny Cash song (yeah, the one from Dawn
Of The Dead) and only got one result with Kazaa lite.
On a slightly related note, does anyone happen to know what the song
playing is when the black evangelist appears on tv and talks about the
dead walking the earth?
Thanks.

If I had broadband I'd probably be using DC++ and Kazaa lite.

I use SoulSeek, it's a good app for getting obscure stuff.

I never understood how SoulSeek hasn't been shut down. It's the only service that uses a central server, and that along with it's name makes me a bit suspicious of it.
I use eMule.

Well until I get the internet in my flat I won't be using anything. When I do I'll use DC++... I've heard good things about it from my flatmate.

Limewire (basic version) although lately there have been some problems connecting to the network. But other than that this network has been great for looking for music.

I use Shareaza, which I think would be the best file sharing utility if everyone was on it. But, since so few are, I also use that bitch of a memory hogger, K++ to get results fast.
Of course, my system has steadily declined into a state of anarchy over the course of this year ever since I installed gAyOL Instant Messenger, and the stupid fags that rename files are responsible for it (On top of me downloading them though in the first place).
Also, the ISP I'm on (Rogers) has a policy that they will not disclose any information on one of their customers, nor allow any line tapping. So I don't need to worry about some idiot riding a horse to smash in.

Orph, you just have to set up port forwarding in your router configuration pages. Emule sucks for occasional use, but if you leave it for while and get a nice highID, it's the mutt's nuts IMO. Ports 4666-4667 should be forwarded to the machine running emule.

I use SoulSeek since I have dialup so I'm primarily downloading my crappy music anyway.

There was a DC++ set-up for just my campus back during the spring and I found it a very useful app. Can search video too (got myself about half of Clone High and a fistful of Upright Citizen's Brigades).

I think it's very hard to get no bad files ever. Foreign versions that aren't labeled as such are pretty common - if you were in france, would you refer to 'I Robot' as 'I Robot - French version'?
I never understood though why people will take a film, and rename it to something completely different? Who does this help... all it does is waste their upload bandwidth sending files that people don't even want D:

Yeah I meant bad as in not the file you thought it was. Long gone are the days when you would get a file that was just corrupted

Of course he is A_S. I doubt anyone on the SP community would attempt to get ahold of something like that otherwise.

Soulseek is great because not very many people know about it, but those that do tend to have tons of songs. The best of both worlds, really.
