How did you export the .jpgs? Err, did you do anything special for them? The custom ones I made kind of, uh, crashed Hammer.

no CJ, nothing special. i had the same problem a while ago with a .jpg that i'd made in PhotoShop. it crashed hammer too. but i've never had any problems with .jpg's exported from PSP.

I wonder how PSP exports differently than Photoshop then? Hmm... Err,
anyway, I could definitely use a thumbnail pack for the CSS props.
Great work, Fishy!

good man damic.
i honestly thought more people would have wanted to help out on this, as there are lots of people here that map for cs, and probably every one of them has had a moan at one time or another about the preview pics not being there.
there are tons of the models in the office folder that are only gibs for other, breakable models, and imo don't really need to be done. it's up to you, but office has so many models that even getting only the main ones is a task in itself.

ah, i didn't notice you'd asked me that. sorry for the delay.
i made all of mine with paint shop pro v7, and none of them had any problems. but i do know that some jpg's crash hammer when you try to view them in the model preview. one that i made in photoshop for another model would cause the crash, and Campaignjunkie said that none of the pics that he made in photoshop would work either. so if it's photoshop that you're using, then i believe that the problem lies there somewhere.
i you want to send me the pics that you've already made, then i could open them with psp and export them again. loading the models in hlmv and naming the screenshot taken is the most time consuming part, and as you've already done that, i should be able to re-export them quite quickly.

Dunno if this is relevant. Xat can be used to not only convert to .jpgs, but it can also increase the images to a higher resolution/quality. I know some of you are fickle about borrowed software, so I won't even bother telling you that I have PSP 8 already in my briefcase, and can upload PSP9 upon request. BUT Xat is free. It can convert a few other image types into .jpg's as well, so it might pay to look into it for experimental reasons.
The best things in life, aren't things.

Hey guys... I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but
I've just recently started mapping for CS:S and I can't believe they
dont have preview pics for the prop resources. I've downloaded
fishy's work thus far, and I love it... and I wish wish wish there were
pics for the rest of the modles.
Could someone (maybe you fishy?) please do the rest of the
previews? I really love what you've done so far, and would be so
happy if everything had a preview.
I think this project dropped off due to lack of interest, but this is
me saying I'm very interested. If anyone feels the same way,
please speak up.

I started doing my own pictures, and it crashes HL model viewer and hammer as well.
I've been using Microsoft Paint v5.1 as I don't have anything else on
this computer.
Fishy would you be able to convert pictures once I've finished them? Did that even work?
EDIT:
Woops it turns out that I was saving images at 300x300 pixels. I
looked at the images you had, and most of them were done at 330x330 pixels
so I did that and it stopped crashing! Which leads me to believe
that the program you use does not matter, but rather its the dimensions
of the image.
I'm currently working on Assault and will try to do as many as I can before I go insane.
As far as I know Damic and fishy have stopped work on this, so when I'm
done I'll zip up the cumulative work (with fishy's permission) and put
it up on my pit for download.
REDIT:
It started crashing on me again and I realized I had to create a new
blank area to paste the printscreen on... I have no idea why but that
eliminated the crashing.
Maybe the resolution is meaningless, but you have to go file -> new everytime you want to make a thumbnail.
