An Ice Axe, Crampons, maybe some rock shoes... I dono.

Realistically though, I'm sure I'll get books DVDs and clothes. Not a bad score. it's what I give everyone else anyway.

I've not completely decided what to ask for this year, but probably a
small wacom graphics tablet. I'm tempted to ask my parents to chip in
for a new graphics card, but I'm really gonna try my hardest in this
mapping contest and if I were to grab one of the prizes, I'd quickly
make redundant whatever graphics card I could currently afford. I'm
also in need of a new snowboard and new snowboarding boots, but I'm not
doing enough of that at the moment to really justify getting them just
now. I'm also looking to get a DVD writer and a good pair Zalman 5.1
headphones, so those are on the list

Otherwise, probably a few games, CDs, DVDs and books, if the past 10 years are anything to go by!

Hoping for an ATi 9600XT. Not up there with the 6800s and X800s, but
should run HL2 nicely. Having seen some benchmarks for it, it beats the
living daylights out of a 9800SE, and it should run HL2 on dx9 without
too many problems...

I soo badly need windows XP and a new Hard Drive. A new computer would be nice but what are ya gonna do?

I asked my mum to get me some canvas and other arty stuff. That's about it, there's nothing I really want because everything I want is bloody expensive. I'd love to have a decent graphics tablet, or a scanner at least. But I dunno, gonna have to ask my dad for a lot of stuff.

Actually, I don't know if they sell them over there, but there are these things called George Foreman Grills over here. Basically a two-sided griddle thingy.

I bought a small version of it for about 15 bucks, and it's perfectly sized for grilling any type of sandwich.

I wanted a new backpack for when i go hiking in England (Crowhurst near Battle, East sussex Is where I start.) I am getting the backpack and I am getting $200 paid for from the cost of a laptop i am currently paying for. I also wouldn't mind a small digital camera, but I'm not getting one...

Argh! This is what's wrong with the world today, when celebrating Christmas is associated with wanting things!
And I'm just getting a bunch of money in all probability, I don't bother asking for anything anymore... apparently I'm supposed to add what I'll be buying, thus the answer is largely clothing, I need some good new t-shirts.

I ask for things but nobody ever wants to buy them, they prefer to give me the money. I'll probably buy a few CDs, some clothes, thinking about getting an acoustic guitar, but also need a better amp and a better electric, so will need to prioritise (can only afford one of the three).

i dont personally celebrate christmas (though my family does), i
celebrate x-mas or annual gift day. so, for annual gift day, i will be
getting 1GB(512x2) of corsair xms xtra-low latency pc3200 (its hella
fast) and a new heatsink and fan for my processor, both for
overclocking  i know this is waht i will be getting, because my dad
told me to send him the links on newegg via email.

btw, annual gift day may sound materialistic and selfish, but its more
of my satirical way of pointing out what the holiday has become. i have
come to appreciate the family/friends aspect more. though presents are
pretty cool.

You're search has ended:

Acoustic

Electric

BVS, honestly, I really love christmas day because it's one of the only days my family gets along and everyone is in a good mood and there's good vibes goin' around. The stresses of the day before or after disappear and such.

And that has nothing to do with presents.

you must admit though, crono, that way too many people stress way too
much over the materialistic things. that is just my observation.
honestly, this opinion is due to the people i know(mainly family, like
a few uncles/aunts, and a few family friends). but i agree that it does
tend to make everyone put aside their differences for the most part,
and that is really the most enjoyable part(also people you dont see
often coming to visit).

good taste in guitars, btw.

/edit

but you have to admit, its heart warming to see the smiles on kids faces when they get that toy they asked santa for!

I don't have a Les Paul electric, but I really want one. I suggest Epiphone because it's the same quality without all the heavy ass gold and platinum. I do however, have an Ibanez AW100 Acoustic. I love that guitar, it sounds terrific, not to expensive either, mine cost about $137 ? $160 (US) or so.

I would be satisfied if i had enough computer parts to make all the PC's i need to make before Christmas.

so far, i got one functional 300 from tracer does jig and 5 semi-functional 400's (minus the HD's) from a local bank.

all i need now is a couple HD's and some sound cards and i will have a 1/2 dozen PC's

my joys have changed since i got older.. giving is much more fun than getting.. i tend to buy whatever i want throughout the year.. i seldom wait for Christmas. :heee:

The only reason I suggested that one and not one with the cut away is because it sounds 100 times better. Not to mention anything above fret 20 on an acoustic does not sound good. Don't bitch. There are trade offs that make it worth it. If you want to stick to the upper frets more use an electric.

Let's see... games... games... games... the new PS2 and then more games for that... Hope to get money for a the logitech mx wireless keyboard/mouse combo (already have an mx1000, but can then put the new mouse on my notebook)... and money for that NEC DVD-RW drive. Silver, of course. Gotta start putting this new video camera to good use...

Then a -lot- of books. Game development books, a level design book (beginner level, but useful for comparing notes), stuff like Raising the bar, a book discussing theories on screenwriting applications in interactive entertainment (something I hope to branch into a bit more in the future if possible), and general modern architecture/skyscraper picture books and stuff for reference and research. I've also decided to start adding strategy guides for games to my list. I never use them to play the game, but the extra info, artwork, and particularly map layouts and outlines are a huge research tool. Getting the Half-Life 2 book with the steam gold package was incredibly smart...

Dunno how much of this I'll get, so I'll try not to get my hopes up, but got quite a few goodies in mind.

I've always liked to give as many options as possible to family, not because I'm greedy and expect all of them, but just because I hate getting like 3-4 ideas for a person and then competing with more people than that for getting it.

Ooh! I hope my Raven clothing order comes in time for xmas, too... especially since there's a few family christmas gifts in there, too

Crono, my point is still the same. What is the point in those fretts being there at all when you can't reach them, and if you could, they don't sound good. I wasn't trying to have a go at your guitar...

Somebody please edit that URL so it doesn't make the topic stupidly wide? And I'm not interested in anybody saying 'it's fine on my 1,000,000,000*1,000,000,000 monitor', either :heee:

Crono, my point is still the same. What is the point in those fretts being there at all when you can't reach them, and if you could, they don't sound good. I wasn't trying to have a go at your guitar...

Somebody please edit that URL so it doesn't make the topic stupidly wide? And I'm not interested in anybody saying 'it's fine on my 1,000,000,000*1,000,000,000 monitor', either :heee:
Otherwise? To have the neck be normal length so you don't f**k up while playing. And it is possible to still play those frets so the metal is still there. I also bet it's the same stock neck that comes on the version with cut-away.

I wasn't saying it sounds god aweful or something, it just sounds a lot better to play that high on an electric.

I never thought you were bashing my guitar. You can't, I know how nice it is

But I don't have a Les Paul, I'd really like one though drool
