"lollerskates" "roflcopter" is there a joke behind these sayings? or is it just kinda a play on words? How did ROFL become a copter? Why is there no Lmao or BRB or WTF words like WTFcopter and BRBmobile and LMAOtron?

They're really, really dumb things to say - personally I stick with my own 'Rollafamo'.

LMAOPLANES
um and there's WTFBBQHAX
BRB doesn't have anything, as it's not an exclamation of surprise or mirth or anything ... it's just saying "be right back" ...
some ppl say these things coz they think it makes them 'leet' or 'cool'
... others say it as a sort of irony on the noobs who think saying it
makes them cool ... much like the way only "n00bs" use "1337sp34k"

Has anyone seen screenshots from Unreal3? Rumors say it will kick HL2's arse (oh no!!!).

kicked is relative, i admit, any unreal engine plays smoother and looks better, but gameplay cannot be overlooked as a deciding factor.
HL will dominate over unreal, until unreal catches on to the game play side. i do however believe that once it does, it will surpass HL, but not before.

I remember Unreal2...all graphics and no gameplay. What most players found fun was staring at Aida's arse or breasts (pervs).

It looks good but i'm already starting to get worried that it's storyline will be CRAP. I mean, giant alien PRG wielding monstas' (like the quake1 ones)? Post apocalyptic future?!Space marines?!?!Sooo originaaaal  (not!).
[edit]
That flying monster reminds me of an itchyosaur (did i spell it right?), the destroyed town looks like city17...

Seems similar in style of it all a bit like some of the Final Fantasy games, especially the shot with the wierd windmills and the strange monsters with oversized weapons on them.

I'm not a big fan of unreal gameplay, but those screenshots are spectacular. I'm not too fond of all the haze and fog.

I detest the Unreal Engine with all my heart, but there's really no denying that Unreal 3 is the best looking game out there (except for the terrain, but that still beats HL2). There's no two ways about it.

Too bad UnrealEd is such a poorly built editor.

not to mention you probably need 3 CPU's and a hell of a graphics adapter to run it.

Whos to say that the 3D rendering program hasn't become the game itself and that all animations and sequences have been pre compiled, so in escense your playing a film as such?
Have to admit the trees look rather good... they didn't cop out like HL2 and build scabby ones with no leaves or 5 leaves lol

I wish that the dang HL2 trees would get some dad-gum LEAVES and maybe make a nice pink flower skin for a spring map.

Yeah, leaves would be nice, but, if in Ravenholm you saw a pretty tree
with pink flowers, would you really think this game was scary.
Not unless a couple fast zombies came out, or some poison headcrabs
lunged from the tops while your using zoom view to look at the pretty
colors
