Gosh, you've got to spend more time mapping instead of measuring these things for Halo.
But I gotta give it to you. Your geekiness scale definitely tops mine.

Nicely done. The Master Chief can really haul ass for someone in a huge suit of armor.

Verily, he can! He can also jump over one meter! I plan to measure out the stuff for HL2 soon. Does anyone else have anything like this?

Halo was so overrated. I'd much rather have played Goldeneye, it was a far superior game even though the graphics were dated by comparison.

Halo is cool, the singleplayer has a good story and had me stuck for a while and the multiplayer is very good because of the teamwork in the warthog. It was never that good though...
These speeds are cool but why the hell?

Well, a metre for me is basically a walking stride, so surely you mean a bit further than that.

Halo 2's field of view drives me nuts. You can't see anything.

Fanboys existing or not existing doesn't make a game any worse or
better. A game is however good you find it to be. Personally I love the
Halo games, though they are not without their faults, but I can also
understand why others aren't so keen on it.

My brother just got Halo: Combat Evolved for PC for $20, but he hasnt been on his comp in a few days, and having only played Halo once or twice, I am dying to actually play some SP or MP, seeing as alot of people say it is good.
But it can't possibly be better than HL2, can it?

Multiplayer Halo and Halo2 far exceeds the fun factor of HL2 online. HL2 gets so repetetive with grav guns and like 2 weapons! Halo is fun 'cus not only is there a team element (on team games obviously) but you can drive and fly vehicles with your mates gunning or driving. So cool.

I dont think the speeds really have much of a base in the real world. When you make a video game and are free from the ball and chain of "physics" and what not, you just make the game move at a speed that feels right.
Can you imagin running at like 8 mph in that game. Or driving across those reletivly small maps at 70 mph? It just would not work.
But I wonder, how close are HL2's speeds and distances?
I loved Halo, great multi player and a really good story. Plus all these little extras they snuck into the game, and Co-Op... that was the best part. But remeber people, your bashing halo fan boys, but to a halo fan-boy we are all just Half-life fan boys...

Halo grabbed me with its storyline... when I first saw the flood I was like 'eek, its the zerg!'
'cause you know, zerg swarm, flood swarm, you know...
