if anyone has an idea for a custom prop that would go well with their theme, and isn't too obscure (so it can be used by other people elsewhere too) or complicated, then i'd be up for having a go at making it.
if anyone's interested, then remember that the better the reference pics are, the better the chances are for the model to be made.
i eat paint

there is no real start or finish, you can pick up the area you want to
map from the web site and start on it when ever you feel like it.
Once your done, send it to me.
As more and more people send me the diffrent areas I will begin to put
them together in one map. Once I finish the one map of 10 rooms
(that will be mosaic #1) I will put any left over areas into that map,
once I have enough areas I will put the 10 new areas inthe the map and
that will be mosaic #2

Allow me to take area 7 for cough the imminent second mosaic . Being a "very hard"-to-make area I can't imagine too many people fighting over it.

As soon as you can, if you take tooooo long, some one else may get to
take your spot. But all that means is you will have more
time to work on it while the next mosaic map is being put together.
and, andrei... your hdd is all gone? dead? holy s**t that is the worst...

maybe just let everyone work on the areas they want.. and if you end up with more than 1 of each area, you already have your second mosaic..
the players tried to take the field
the marching band refused to yield

beta, I must say its pretty neat. With a few bug fixes it will be
ready for relese.

Great! Given how enthusiastic people are in joining such a project, I
think we're going to have at least 4 or 5 more mosaics. I can't wait to see mosaic #1 and I can't wait to start making a room for mosaic #2 (and I will this weekend).

Hey Doc. I haven't officially signed up yet, although I've been
fiddling with something for Area 10. The template itself is
rather small... and consequently my area is very linear. Its
nothing more than a hallway and a large room. Is this ok?
My goal is to make something that looks strong so that walking through
a connector is like... whoah. In other words, the gameplay is
going to suck... is that a problem?

nope, I was just running around beta with a friend and I must say its pretty neat, even if gameplay isn't the best.

Think I might make a part of the mosaic... How many cubes big is the mosaic? Does it make a cube or a square or what? You should make an overall pic showing all the different sections alignments...
I think for a future mosaic there should be a morphing of themes between, so any area that joins has to morph the themes of the opposite rooms maybe.

I think you have to go to the mosaic site Doc set up and then pick an
area you want to do, download it, and let him know which one you picked.
Get it in as soon as you're done since the first people to do each
section (10 in all) get into the first mosaic. The people who
finish afterwards get slotted into the second.
