My hosts are changing their e-mail system (apparently, for new spam systems etc.) and, disturbingly, the competition e-mail box is completely empty- there hasn't been any spam delivered since a few weeks after setting it up. So, if you're entering your map, please let me know in here or PM me, and if you've already e-mailed me, also please say so here or PM me. Thanks

I recommend this worthy of a sticky post? Its bound to slide away if not.
There is no history until something happens, then there is.

Looks like there are more wanna-be judges than there are maps!

As it says on the front page, I'm going to be away (starting yesterday) for a while, so you've got a couple more weeks... I'll also try and contact potential judges in the meantime.

Community voting isn't that great, though, since many people simply
vote for maps based only on the screenshots so the presence of judges
with mapping know-how is recommended.

Usually the final map selection is released as a pack, and you download the pack. Community voting doesn't decide who gets the prize, its just mainly for kicks and giggles really.

I also submitted a map, which should be on time.
It won't win, but it means a lot to me to enter.

Is there at least a list of submissions some where? I'm
interested in seeing what people came up with. Maybe a map pack
for download if there aren't too many?

I downloaded the Orderlies_vs_Patients map a couple of times and
it said the file was corrupt. Anyone else have a problem with getting
that one to work?
Just took a quick run through of the other maps. I guess I can't
be too critical since I couldn't muster the energy to sit in front of
the computer all summer making a submission myself. But as someone with
a surrealist art background I felt like maybe I was expecting too
much. But then again, I really like a couple of these.
It's tricky making someting surreal and yet playable as a fun DM
map. There's a lot of give and take choices to make. I
spent a lot of time working out ideas in my head when the contest was
first announced and spent hours trying to mork them out. (one was
the magic hallway of doors from cartoons made with a series of
teleports- I'd love to see someone make that work).

I have looked at all the maps, and have pretty much picked the best one in my opinion. A few are pretty cool looking, while a few aren't that good. Orderlies verus Patients does not work for me either.

No, it is a HL2DM map(you're thinking of a different map.) It is not the bsp that is corrupt but the zip will not extract.
