I love that first shot, don't know what it is about it, but it's really cool

Looks good, but I would perhaps add a little more pink ice cream to the middle of the scoop.

You just had to tell me about the 'report' button. I thought it
was a text link and accidentally clicked it. Id say, expect it to
be gone in a sort period. But seriously, it was an accident. So
no spamming me, <span style="font-family: courier new; font-style: italic;">PLEASE!
I beg of you, don't beat me to a pulp.
</span><span style="font-family: courier new;">Woops, treading back to my "accident prone" high school days.</span><span style="font-family: courier new; font-style: italic;">
</span>
You know, I've actually got nothing to say

I love how you highlighted the guitar player (and all of them in that picture for that matter).

Thanks! One of the last big lessons I learned when, was how to manage colors better. You should only use black and white in the most extreme cases. I try to paint with a hard-edge brush using different values of colors to create the Light/Midtone/shadow version of that color, WITHOUT applying black to darken the color. Almost all new painters use white and black to adjust the value of a color, and this leads to very muddy colors. There is a science to it, and some very good tips (especailly with digital) to maintaining vibrant colors.
Doc - I have a 9x12 Wacom and it is PLENTY large enough. I don't know what you have right now, but I honestly wouldn't go any larger than 6x8. A 6x8 Intuos 3 will suit almost anyone just fine. Anything bigger is almost a waste of money.
I also have a tablet pc, that I'm trying to grow into. It's a little strange doing color work with an LCD screen, since the viewing angle changes the color, but I'm adjusting. It's really nice to sit in a chair in front of the TV, or lay in bed doing digital work.

Almost no one uses black paint here (unless we are doing a grey
scale). You can always add compliment colors together to make
grey and black. It can be hard to get it right sometimes but the
resulting grey has a hint of color that adds so much more to a painting
than black and white.
I find that in PS painting, layering color works really well.

Christ. What percentage do you get from each sale?
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I like the picture, but the only thing that seems weird is how she's
lighting the pipe. It looks like her right hand should be rotated
palm down, instead of palm sideways.

Makes sence, I made this from a photo but added the zippo lighter so
that hand is posed to hold a smaller Bic lighter, not the thin fat
zippo.
As for my Deviantart store... I make (I think) 50% of the profit over
the base price. So if the base price is $10 and I sell it for $20
I make $5. But I paid a one time $25 sign up fee, so I dont think
I'll be making any money off of this for quite some time.

I just watched your short movie, and I liked it too. I liked the lava texture on the smoke / lavalamp part.

I knew it was a volcano, I just meant the animation on the texture of
the erupting lava reminded me of the motion of a lavalamp. That
wasn't very clear from my original post, but thats what I meant

I was a little confused by the piping, but the water dripping and pooling looks really good.
