yep.
Everyone probley knows I like 360
I didn't. Nor do I see the point of having the options 'I love/hate PS3'
and 'I love/hate Wii' considering they aren't even out yet.<br style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">

you "support" the console by making purchase of said console and the accessories and games that go with it. I "support" Xbox360, but I am also willing to do the same for other consoles if they are good enough for my saved dollars. I don't whole-heartedly pledge my soul for all eternity to any one console.
I can't hate or love a system when I haven't even seen it yet.
I'm sure all 3 have their advantages and disadvantages.
And how do you know that PS3 or Wii is s**t? what games have you played
on them?

Anything over $500 qualifies as potential s**t.
If I'm paying that much, the damn console better do everything short of taking out the trash. At that much money, I can do major upgrades to my PC.
The price tag is a major part of what you buy.
I have heard that the Wii will have fairly resonable prices, though. At that point, I simply don't have faith that it'll deliver, but I'm more than willing to find out

I will wait a year or so on PS3 and see the games. The price IS
pretty ridiculous, that's what holds me back.
Let us know about the Wii if you get it.
I want to know if the new Zelda game is worth it. I was irritated when they
switched it from GC to Wii.

Zelda is still coming out on the GameCube, but a better version is coming out on the Wii.
I hate Sony and Microsoft because of their buisness ethics and constant attitude towards consumers. I'm buying a Wii this weekend and I'll post how that goes.
I agree with what Maddox is saying there. Not because of "oh my God, maddox said that so it's true" bulls**t, but because he's right and it's damn near the same opinion I've had of them for the last 6 years.
Reno will be astonished when I say this, but at this point in time I'd be more inclined to put money towards a 360 than a PS3 (though I wont, because I hate Microsoft and refuse to give them money). I'll end up getting a PS3 for the games when I can find a cheap used one as well as some cheap used games. (CD Game Exchange)
Though I will say that size and weight issue is really putting me off from even thinking of getting the console in any form.
I wish I could choose options 3-5 (Just to note, a lot of shops are setting up Wii demo units now if you want to get in a few minutes of play time! I haven't seen any PS3 demos though)
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Had a quick go on the Wii this afternoon playing Zelda. The controls were easy to get used to, pretty much pick up and play. Though I think they had it a bit too sensitive. The graphics whilst aren't great didn't give it any negativity at all. People there were having a laugh playing tennis and boxing (the tennis one looked pretty good). Can't wait toget my hands one one

Wii for me.
You realise Zelda is a port from the Gamecube version so that explains the not-so-next-gen graphics.
Come on December...

I'm not gonna buy any consoles in the foreseeable future. There's been few enough games that have piqued my interest in recent years to count on one hand. Games these days seem to me to be over-hyped, over-produced, and under-fun, LOL PRITY GRAFPHIKZ KEKEKE doesn't translate to fun for me =/
I'd like to play Gears of War, but I'm not gonna buy a 360 for it. If I was rich I'd probably get an HDTV and all three consoles, but as it is there are a lot of things I'd rather spend my money on.

Damn you, guys.
I want a Wii.
I'm not a fan of X-Box. Although, now I'm seeing games for the 360 that I'd really like to play... like Bioshock... and Dead Rising.
Playstation 3.. well, I'd like to get one just so I can play Resident Evil 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4 when they come out.
But Wii..
It just seems like so much f'ing fun!!

Eh, it doesn't matter.
All the money I'll be getting soon is going into my new computer.
And then into my drumkit.. or maybe the other way around. It depends how fast recording will come up.
Anyway, I probably won't get any system until next year.
If I do, I'll be shocked.

Wow, the Wii is mauling the other systems on here.
I would get a Wii for the following reasons:
a) it's innovative in terms of gameplay/interface. not just prettier graphics.
b) it has properties like Zelda & Metroid I can't enjoy on PC
c) it has some platform/adventure game genres that aren't really on PC much
d) it's way f**king cheaper
Also, most of the game genres I would enjoy on the 360 or PS3, I can get better versions of on the PC. For example, I'd much rather have the UT games than the Halo series, because I'm more interesting in multiplayer in an FPS. Hell, even Gears of War... is only 8 player. I'm used to the larger scope of UT2k4, or even TFC.

After watching that video, I decided that I wanted to watch other videos of the new consoles... getting smashed to pieces. :crash:
I watched them all get smashed, and then came to the conclusion that the PC rules.

Three reasons why it doesn't feel "precise" in Wii sports (Because it doesn't):
1. For motion the controller uses acceleration meters. So, going forward, then stopping places the controller in an uninitialized state, when bringing the controller back to in front of you, it will read that as new input. (This applies mostly to things like golf) The point is, there's no possible way the thing can be 100% accurate to real life movements, though it's close enough to be unnoticeable with proper developer thinking.
2. There is a delay because the action needs to happen before the data can be sent, it's going through a BlueTooth connector which can, at the most (I think), send 3Mbps. When it's getting tons of input as well as sending audio data and rumble data back to the controller(s) there could simply be a lack of bandwidth. That's if the device uses Bluetooth 2.0.
3. It's not a full blown game. I bet the full fledged games will make better use than this tech demo. Because of this, none of these games are 1:1 controlled.
Now, as far as I've been able to figure out, here's the ins and outs of the games:
Tennis: the direction (left or right) as well as the timing of the swing are all that matter. Timing your swing is very important, actually, since it will determine in what direction the ball goes. There are some really intricate things here that I haven't been able to get yet but have done on accident (like a power hit. The ball had a strong phantom trail behind it and was going very fast)
Bowling: This is, probably, the best implemented game in Wii Sports as it gives you the most direct control. If you keep the acceleration meters in mind you'll probably play better. A more powerful throw is done if you stop your swing short (so one of the meters keeps going, it will transfer it into "force" data) this doesn't require you to break your arm or anything trying to throw it hard. You twist the controller to do spins. Twist right to curve left and twist left to curve right. Combine this with your "power" and it determines when the ball will curve.
Now, here's the nice thing about that: if you know about it (and can control it), well ... the game gets old. Fast. but if you don't it will read little things you do with your hand orientation and result in different throws. Which is a bit more realistic. Anyway, IGN's strike formula doesn't really work. Here's one that does, but isn't guaranteed. Go to the left or right as far as you can go while not in the gutter. Then hold twist the controller to curve towards the middle pin and to a very hard throw (stop quickly before finishing the up part of your throw).
Baseball: I enjoy this one a lot even though it's not particularly accurate. If you move the controller at a certain speed, it hits or throws. The throwing uses acceleration data, the hitting doesn't. With hitting, reading the pitch is everything. If you get a "splitter", don't swing (if you do, you will not hit it very will it will either be a foul ball or strike, while it will ALWAYS hit the plate if you don't swing it will be a ball). With pitching, It seems like it multiplies your force for the speed it should throw at. you'll pretty much only see pitches in the 60, 70, and 90 mph range (and whatever equivalent to your country). To do other types of pitches you hold down a or b or both.
Golf: Imagine the meter is the same as a power meter on any other golf game and suddenly it acts identically.
Boxing: This is the one that doesn't response as well and while I can beat any body I play it with I'm not finding much strategy of even fun in the game. I think a full blown double wiimote boxing game would blow it away (Punchout Wii!!)
A little drawn out, but that's everything. There are also "training games" that are more fun than the real games themselves. They act more as minigames than anything else. The bowling game that's suppose to teach you accuracy with spinning is the best. It puts obstacles in the lane with a small number of pins you have to spin around them and nail the pins.
To note, full fledged games do have better control and don't necessarily read in all your shaky hand movements.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Hey, what's this about the Wii recall?
I heard it briefly on the news.. something about the controllers.
What's wrong with them?

Nothing. You can get a replacement wrist strap if you want one though (100% free for up to 4). They made the string thicker because people are misusing the controller and trying to throw them oh, and complaining a lot.
Many broken TVs and fingers have resulted from overzealous players.
