Well I figured we might as well claim it before some random fly-by-night does, so we now have a Steam Community group for our fine website.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/snarkpit

So get joining! Should make it easier to get some games between members in the future at the very least

Nice ReNo. Unfortunately I'm still using my brother's steam account, so I can't join.

Apparently I can't join. It refreshes the page when I attempt to with no other action.

There. You would think that it wouldn't just sit there and do nothing, but rather it would redirect you to a log-in page ... but no, that would make too much sense.

I signed up.

I signed up.

Any people in the vicinity of the western to mid-western united states should join me for a rousing game of Counterstrike Source tonight.

Cool, I joined.

ReNo: it'd be cool if you edited the group permissions to allow regular members to schedule events (I think you can do that). I think that'd be a great example of the "community" concept at work, where others can set up their own Snarkpit-related gaming events (for example, I have dm_residential_b3 scheduled for release in a few hours - it'd be cool if I could set up an event on the group profile for anyone who might be interested in coming to what should be a pretty big playtest event).

Just my two cents.

Didn't really spend any time looking at the options before, but I've now made it so members can make events and announcements as you suggested

How do you add administrators to a group? I started a halfwit group and I can make members officers and give them admin privileges, but I can't make them admins in name.

If you make someone an officer, they'll show up under the "Administrator" area and they'll have administration abilities which you can control. (They can have all the same abilities as the owner if you like)

To activate Steam Community in your Steam client go to: File -> Settings -> Account -> Beta Participation, 'Change' button and follow the seps and choose Steam Community, the client will want to restart, it will then download the necessary stuff and there will be a community tab on the Steam window.
