Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_agora (dm_platform)

I've been working on this map for about a month now,
and although it doesn't seem like much compared to
some other quality maps, I'd like to think I've come a long way.

It was inspired by the deathmatch genre in it's
entirety although much of it comes from the quake family.

It is built 100% with displacements, and there is not a single
visible world brush in the entire level.

It features large asteroids on orbit around the map and smaller
ones are floating inside it waiting to be grabbed.

It's worth a mention that the small asteroids won't
respawn until they've all been thrown off the map.

  • Sorry but the download server is a bit slow but it works. The filesize is 376 kb (more or less). I'll try to upload it in any other server in the future.
This map is based on a part of a building. It's also a central ground and two important rooms: a conference room and a computer one. There are many weapons and a lot of action. Of course I could remake it with your opinion and new ideas.

This is my first map for HL2 DM and I think i'll make better maps in the future.

My second (and last) test map.

It's a remake of the lambda_bunker map from HLDM. I haven't changed the layout, though I did build the map from scratch so the map dimensions aren't accurate.

I'm not holding a flame for this map so if it's really bad then I won't bother releasing it, but your thoughts are still welcome as I am still learning to map and I'll like to know where I could improve.

Unreal Tournament 2003 DM_FEEDBACK

Due to unexplainable problems I can't fix, the map won't be released. It's a shame to waste the work, but I might do a similar layout for a HL2_DM map.
This is my first UT2003 map and it took approximately 1 full week to make.

Its a small DM arena with an industrial/hellish theme. Its fast and furious and the ideal player count is about six, possibly eight if you want. Still tweaking some things like paths and weapon placement but its pretty much done. The UnrealEd shot is lighting only to give you an idea of the layout while the 2 ingame shots show the look. Should have a download link up soon.

Its a sort of futuristic looking map using the citadel/combine textures.There is a Heal/Frag pod which will regenerate health but can also be reversed via floor pads to instantly kill whoever is inside.

Counter Strike Source Ambush

Ambush is a small map that starts out quick. The CT's start off in two Army trucks that are blockaded in the street. Terrors start out in their compound, which overlooks the ambush spot, or in a mosque across the street. The Army trucks are trapped inbetween a debris blockade and a burning fuel tanker that's been destroyed by a carbomb. The action starts out fast because some CT's and T's can see each other, but if you duck you're out of their sights ... so pull the trigger quick or fall back.

I've spent a lot of time tweeking the navigation mesh so that bot's run pretty smoothly on the map. With my 3ghz 512mb ram 128mb radeon 9800 system I can load up 15 bots for 8 on 8 matches and it's pretty damn fun. More then that though and the bots start taxing my system to much and the fps start to get out of hand.

I've labeled all the area's of the navigation mesh so that you can use the radio to give out locations and if you play with bots they will give you locations as well. Most of the area names are pretty fitting. The closest match I could get for the mosque was 'Inside' which I'm not really happy with. I've got Apartments, Market, Upstairs, Downstairs, Porch, Balconey, Alley, CTSpawn, Truck (the destroyed fuel tanker), Atrium, Inside, Outside, Middle, Stairs, Dumpster and Tunnel ... I think that's all.

Hello this is my first map i have gotten good feedback from steam forums and wanna get some other opinions and advice from more advanced mappers.It has plenty of cover and props to throw around as well as a to story building with a snipers nest.Ive been working on my laptop @ work so screenshots might suck a little.

[March 9th update]

Performace update, I'm going to try and play test this bad boy. Much better fps and wepon placement.
This was a three day project to create a contest map for hl2:dm

There is a large canal running down the center seperating the two sides. On one side is a parking lot and a building that is under construction. The other side is a small back alley projects area.

Players have to fight their way to the higher ground or risk running into the middle for the powerful rocket launcher.

[jan 16th update] Well I'm going to put this at 100% because I feel that I am done, becuase valve has the map and I dont think I should change it. I would much rather play test it... alas...

This is my first map. This is a wharehouse, filled with illegal goods and munitions. The terrorists use this wharehouse as a source of income which will fund their terrorist activities. The CTs start outside and have to clear out the hostiles within. I hope by completion that the map will have a sewer system, vent system and in general, an ample amount of routes and camping spots for the player to utilize.

The car on the hydro lift moves up and down via the switch nearby, trap an enemy under the car while its closing for a nasty effect.

The location in screenshot 3 makes for some good knife fights.

The map is nowhere near completion, many rooms still have to be created, textured and props must be added to existing rooms and those that are to be created.

I appreciate any comments or suggestions, thank you.
