Can't one simply download dod:s using a peer to peer program?

personally i see nothing wrong with valve.
sure they charge more for games and such, but that is how business is conducted. more money for valve = an even better HL3.
even steam: when it f**ks up during an upgrade i still dont take my anger out on steam because i know it was probably something wrong with my comp. anyway ill stop now - i love valve because they make great games. (by the way what was wrong with HL2???)
Aftermath? it is a full expansion? it was supposed to be out this summer but does any one know anything about it? if you do please tell!

Andrei, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work as its an online only game,
and as such there are validations that you wouldn't be able to pass
with a pirated copy. Unique IDs and accounts etc.
rival, just search any gaming site like IGN.com for information on
Aftermath. There are videos and screenshots and interviews and
articles galore.

Well, I've got it now. It's 6:20, just decrypted the files.
The only thing now, it says that my transaction is still pending... I
used a credit card. Now I have to wait until it completest the
transaction before I can play. That better not take another week
or something...

I tried to start it and it froze my computer on the menu screen. I
guess I'll wait a while before trying it again, and hope any issues are
sorted out.

About 5 minutes after I posted, I tried it agian. It worked like
a charm. I've been playing the last hour, and it's pretty god
damn super awesome.
Right now, my only real complaint, is that every f**king server has
1000 ping. I don't know if it's people who want to try to run it
at max, or people's machines aren't good enough, but almost every
server had ping through the roof. I got onto one server at 50
ping, and stayed for about 45 minutes. That was the best
one. God I lvoe avalanche

I'm not gonna try to play DoD:S on my laptop, even though it could
handle it on the lowest settings. I want to wait till
Thanksgiving break to get the full effect on my desktop!
Host some images on imageshack.us and link them here. I want to see some fresh shots!

ATM, the only screenies I'll show you are lower quality versions of the
ones all around the internet. I'm running it on my laptop right
now on default settings. Not going to bother it on my desktop, my
laptop is faster

My favorite part of Steam is being able to access all my purchases from
any computer. When my new computer arrived I didn't have to hunt
down all my CDs... I just downloaded the Steam Installer and began
downloading the games I wanted.
It's so convenient if you have a fast internet connection.

I must be dumb, because I don't see anything snazzy about those
shots. What exactly is HDR doing to make those shots special?

That shot has a glow to it that definitely sets it apart.

So, uh ... you can see people's health, eh? Cool.
Just to add to the question mentioned ... two pages ago ... even if you get the entire game on steam it needs to be unlocked on the steam servers for your account. In other words. No, it wont work.
When CS:S Beta was going on, I got a key for Condition Zero from a friend and tried it out, it didn't bother checking the key, but it let me download and play (it locked it out later, since the key was in use ... and I got a face full of CZ and never wanted to play it since ... since it sucked balls), So, yeah, copying GCF files or something like that wont work ... for that you'd need a "fake" steam thing ... Huh? No, I'm not giving any hints... you're crazy ... crazy.
I wish I could play DoD:S ... but, it wouldn't run well ... I'm not paying another $20 anytime soon (I think, if I really explain my situation and point of view I could get a lowered price ... I'd be willing to pay about $5 ... Which I don't expect, but, I don't expect anything for free, but ... I've still shelled out more then most people here for the game and I don't even get to play it) ... and I have school.
Anyway ... more maps. I DEMAND MORE MAPS. Isn't there only four?
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

If you bought it before it was released, you could have got a 10% discount, Nickel
This game is missing three things; dod_charlie (omaha beach), dod_cain, and the greasegun/m1 carbine class that I loved.
Otherwise, can't stop playing it

What was the name of the map with the german radar station located on a
hill and guarded by a usable cannon? It was my fave. I wonder if we'll
see it in DOD:S any time soon.

I loved that one that Andrie was talking about... dod_glider methinks.
AS, I know that the rifle is still there, but I enjoyed it being a
class of it's own. And the german Bazooka doesn't get the
greasegun, they get some crappy little auto-pistol.
But the bazooka class does kick some serious ass...

Lance Corporal isn't that hard to get to. Going from 500 to 1000
isn't that big. Getting to Corporal is a royal pain in the
ass. I'm only at about 2800 (need 10k)

Do you mean dod_charlie, originally dod_overlord, that is Omaha Beach from Saving Private Ryan? Because I love that map

Ah, forget it, it doesn't matter. It was removed from the later versions of DOD anyway.

Ahhh, so 'twasn't Charlie.
I f**king hate what goes on when two players rub against
eachother. It doesn't work! There's the same problem with
PoA... pissesme off.
