I listen to Pink Floyd when I'm on a role, and most anything when I'm out of ideas

I don't really map anymore, but there's one song that when I hear it
triggers mapping and vice versa, and that's Scar Tissue by RHCP.
For some reason, I don't know why.

i tend to not notice music when i'm tuned into mapping, and if i do notice it, it's because it's disturbing me. anything from the chili peppers to bach is cool for fragging, though.

If/when I map, silence is not only required, but enforced. My house better be silent or I am pissed.
When I frag, I shut off every noise in the map I can. No music or anything. I want to hear every footstep. I tend to stalk most of my kills.

Poison, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Silverchair, Cranberries, The Ramones, one White Zombie song, Queen, Spinal Tap, AC/DC, some Metallica and Final Fantasy songs (got the whole set) to name a few, but the one that makes me think of mapping the most is the Tetris song by DJ Venom. Oh and also Safety Dance :dorky: .

This is interesting, because its what my dissertation is on my architecture degree- the proportional relationship on music and architecture. All about how music inspires architecture and creation, and how architecture can be made from music by subconciously drawing the glissando of the song.
Also about how music can be translated through its mathematics or score to create architectural forms. Try opening some tune in goldwave and look at its waveform- extracting sections can be used to create architecture.
Anyways, interesting.

Not really, Freeman. I mean it's not really strange. I came
here with mapping problems when I first started, then I grew out of
mapping, but still liked the community.

I listen to a lot of Alan Parsons Project when I'm mapping, along with some Aphex Twin or Pink Floyd. Occasionally Kraftwerk or Tool.

<span style="color: white;">What I listen to while mapping is whatever I'm listening to that week. Usually I'll load up a playlist of similar artists 2 to 3 hours long and let it loop while I'm at my computer (closing winamp when I need to hear or when I need all the CPU cycles I can get)... and I don't change the playlist for days or even a week or more
I had a playlist with the albums "The Downward Spiral" and "The Fragile" plus a few other NIN songs running for weeks (about 180 hours altogether) but sometimes I'll leave it on while I'm AFK. Amazingly I rarely get bored of the music I listen to, and if I do it's most likely the music's fault.
