The topic is pretty self-explanatory. What is your favorite place in the world and why?

It can be as specific as your bed or as general as the entire country of Japan, but whatever it is, let us know why you love it so much.

Also, I guess if you can't decide between a couple different places, post about them all.

I'm not quite sure what my top pick would be, but when I know I'll post it here.

Hmm, depends on what mood I'm in. When I'm tired to death after being up for a long time, my bed is definitely the best place in the world. Other times in front of my computer is my favorite place. When I'm tired of the world around I just go into my pitch black room to spend some quality time with my comp.

There's this monument next to my school that's like the frame of a church (very small though) and has a huge bell at the top. We've dubbed it the 'bell tower' and it's definitely my favourite place to be, because I spent every lunch period of grade 9 chilling there, playing guitar, playin hacky-sack, smokin pot, it's just the ultimate chill place.

Nope, not possible to pick a single one for me. Too many equally good

I guess I could reduce them to a lot of gardens. I have a favor for roof gardens. Make you feel like king of the world. I also love japanese gardens (the real ones, not the "asian touch" gardens at your neighbors house).

During the school year, I like the computer lab. I get to listen to some music, and write whatever kind of thing I want to write

Most of the time though, I prefer to be in front of my nice computer. It doesn't talk back to you, it does what you want, and I can still write what I want and listen to my music ;D

Magurele is a place about 20 km south of Bucharest. It's a nuclear
research center or something along those lines. There is a forest
there, that would make most geiger counters scream in agony. That's my
little happy spot.

I wouldn't mind seeing space one day. I doubt I'd have the courage to get shot into space via a modern day shuttle, but even stilll, though.

I heard rich guys paid to fly on a special plane that pretty much takes you waaaay up, coasting in the stratosphere (or whatever the hell its called).

Yeah, my bet is it wont become something as casual as Kubrik's SO:2001, but I bet rich people with more money than they know what to do with could definitly buy trips up to a space station so they can watch spider's mate in zero G.

When I was young I would have said my favorite place was in my living room, by the fire, when it's snowing, during December. But... now that I'm older Christmas no longer retains any sense of magic for me, so I guess I'll have to think of something else...

I don't think that I have 1 specific place, as all places have the pros and cons.

My favourite country that I would like to visit would be between Japan
and Austrailia. Japan because it looks like such a different culture
from here, and Austrailia just looks plain cool!

My favourite town would be Brighton (where I live).

China, Shanghai was a cool place where I can live for a time.

I'd like to go back to Paris and South France in my life time, study art there.

Canada is a great place to be in the Summer, Alberta is my place of experience but I've never been anywhere in Canada where the summer climate isn't great and the people aren't civil.

Then there is the capital of the world, New York, NY. By far the best place in the whole world.

I really enjoy living an hour out of NYC.

I think a dream of mine would be to share an apartment there with a steady girlfriend, for a year or two. I wouldn't want to raise a family there, but being young and in love in NYC would be... the best. I think the city can feel lonely at night if you don't have someone with you, but if you do have someone, the lonely feeling of being lost in a sea of strangers pulls you together.

I think it will rapidly be replaced by other locations, but since I can only speak for places I've been...

The East-Ridge direct route on Forbidden Peak has to be my favorite place in the world. Its a thousand-foot drop to a glaciers on each side of a knife-edge granite ridge. shivers I love it.

I suppose I'm more of a Urban kinda guy. I wouldn't want to live out in the middle of no where, but I would want to visit it all the time.
I find that nature is more of a state of mind than any one place. I've hiked the AT, the Rockies, and South France while they were all unique I can't say I'd pick one over another.

I guess you could say God's work rocks where ever, Mans work sucks in many places.

My favorite place in the whole world is any public library. In my mind I can imagine all those words being typed/printed from people all over the globe and throughout time.

I actually have a reverence for books. Even those I'd never read have a value. The very thought of all the books they burned during WWII makes me sad. IMO, that should be the second worse atrocity after the Jewish incident.

If there is a Heaven, mine will be full of books.

Screw WW2, the burning of libraries by barbarians (roman libraries I think) that contained hundreds of 1 copy books pisses me off. But alas... whatever.

I have another place that is almost equal to the first, and it's this little grove of trees in a forest near my house where I just go and sit everyonce in awhile and think. 'Tis very peaceful, I never leave it feeling anything but pure bliss.

I live around plum creek. It's a small park around the creek itself, kinda like a forest except not quite big enough.

I like to sit around the park sometimes or walk along the pathes. Helps me think.

When I first started driving I took my wife to Utah. I told her that this is where I wanna retire. The location was around the Arches National park region. (same area you mention if you google it Nick.)

Her response was something to do with "But there's no plants. What will the cows/horses eat?"

We have not discussed it again. :/

I think Utah is the prettiest state in the US.

I really like being in big cities. The buildings, the accessibility of everything, the faceless masses... I've never been to New York, but I think I'd have a great time if I went.

But right now, my absolute favourite place would have to be wherever my girlfriend is
