It bothers me that the latter half of the "History of the World" is primarily about the United States.

Wow, you people need to stop bitching about stuff. There's a grand total of 3 steps in this history that deal only with United States history: Taxation, Emanipation Proclamation, and Resignation.
If you want a fight, bring it.

Some of these last parts are completely the wrong way round.. particuarly invention, which seems to have graced us with its presence just about the same time cars came about... dodgy

I think the point being made was that there was slavery a very long time before all that...

personally, if people are going to make a point of expressing 200 years as "only" then all i can say is "WOW..200 years and everyone wants to be just like us"
jeeze guys, get over it will'ya? if the US and its defects truly dominate so much of your days, you truly need medical help.. I LIVE HERE and it doesn't consume my days as much as you whiners who don't

The point I was making was 'no s**t, slavery's been around since practically the dawn of time, but it ended in the main industrialized nations around the same time'. Which means putting it where it is in the story of the universe makes sense (since a lot of people suddenly saw slavery as a bad thing and decided to abolish it.)

ok I agree on that. I didn't understand your earlier post. However the events here on earth are but a grain of sand when compared to the entire universe.

Don't turn it around. I'm not obsessed with what america does at all. But I won't say nothing when you seem to think it's reasonable to think that america invented and solved most of the social and political problems that have faced the world, when yes, america has 'only' been around for 200 years. Orph - what are these countires that are trying to be like america? I don't see any.

I won't post a list of countires that don't want to be like america, because in my opinion, that list would include every country. There are no countries that try and copy america. If you have increasing credit card debt, and so do people in the UK, that doesn't mean everyone in the UK thought 'wow, they have card debt in america... I want that'. If you have starbucks and mcdonalds, we don't think 'wow, how cool, we want that in our country', the companies just expand over here to make money by selling something that people in general like. They like it because it satisfies their tastes, not because they want to be like americans. Two cars in the garage? I'm sure america invented that... and even if it did, people in other countries like that because guess what? It's nice to have a big house and two cars, not because they think 'wow, I want to be like an american and have two cars and a garage'. Lastly, picket fences? I don't really think anybody is 'copying' that, and even if they were, once again, white picket fences are not an american innovation.

sadly, you failed again Jeff, and as usual blamed your shortcomings upon me.
again let me stress this, I DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS WHOM COPIED WHOM.
all i am saying is similarities do exist, the persons whom seem to think its important of WHO, is people like YOU.
still you cannot goad me into a debate, because the priorities just are not there, we can and do discuss things i feel important enough to debate, but this topic insert razz sound here
Jeff, again lemme say, you failed miserably once more, you my friend are much like osmosis, you filter out the pieces you want, or THINK are relevant, to a point to where the actual topic no longer resembles my post at all. and much like osmosis, the filter you have works only in one direction, you fail miserably when it comes to new concepts, or stranger ones than you are used to hearing.
do yourself a favor, re-read my word, ZONE IN on the parts where i say, ITS NOT IMPORTANT, and you will have a much better day.
face it Jeff, you and i play on different fields, and yours will never look like mine nor mine yours.. your priority system just is way to weird for me.. and your methods of debating them are worse still.
till you can talk, or think like i do, you will lose every debate we have, at least so far as winning me over to your side. get a handle on things Jeff, and get back to me when something really important peaks your interests, cause this and other mundane issues like it... are a waste of MY TIME, and yours.
my advice, stop filtering my posts till they say what you want to hear, i wrote them all at once, i FULLY expect you to read them AND comprehend them that way as well :/
have a nice day Jeff.. I'm done with this subject, it already exceeded my daily allowance of absurdity :/
