It might be on topic but Lep did actually say to start new threads in the map forum for discussion about your entries, and keep this free for contest discussion only.
Regardless, the map is looking pretty good actually, particularly that first screenshot which I particularly like. You could use some custom textures though - nothing particularly themed perhaps but just some nicer concrete / wood etc...

<!-- ZoneLabs Popup Blocking Insertion -->if lep did say that then this will be my last comment on my map entry, i've been looking for some custom textures atm, i been thinking though, i might just use hl and cs textures. [cs 1.5 that is]

Looks good, but I'm not to keen on those particular shades for some reason. I think the lightest blue is a bit murky... or something...

That happened to you in the de_dam map too right? This is odd, they both show up fine for me.

You probably said already, but is this going to be flatshaded? I'm just hoping you aren't sticking with all that concrete everywhere

There are some nice bits in there (I think - small in editor shots aren't exactly that revealing  ) but as Jeff said, the textures are pretty poor, I'd look into getting some more suitable ones.

If you want to pay me I can pop next door and take some photos of the dining room (Christ Chuch college) where they film those scenes?

It'd be pretty cool if you were able to incorporate the moving staircases into your map

All you have to do is make the map and send it to lep (the guy who runs the site) at the email address he specified. Don't forget to post in-progress screenshots / btea version in your snarkpit profile as well, that way we can give you feedback and suggestions

One part of that I didn't get -- do I post the final map, with beta screenshots (and a few final ones) or do I just send screenshots as I go, and when I finish, send the final map?

No need for the "Yippy Ki Yay!" at the end of your posts man, its in your sig already
Anyway, just post screenshots (don't send them anywhere, just add the map to your profile and upload screenshots with it) to get feedback, when it comes to submitting your map just send Lep a zip file with any necessary files - typically that would include the BSP, custom resources (models, sounds, skies, etc...), and your readme file. Oh and remember to -wadinclude any custom textures.

You only have to e-mail me the completed map, that's it, but it would be nice if you updated your profile/us here with your map and screenshots!

Well upon a quick read through of this thread, there seems to be a helluva lot, but I doubt everyone will get around to entering (it never works out quite that way!). Even if just half of the people who plan to enter actually enter though, we would still have a big range of maps!

Not bad at all  I'm slowly getting back all my luxuries  The NTL people are coming in a few weeks so I can get back to watching some decent stuff on telly and possibly a month after that i'm considering a bit of broadband - though until then i'm stuck with a rather limited net connection in my 45min lunch break at work.
The thing i'm having the most difficulty with is the roads....they're going to take a fair while to get used to! I know how to get to HMV and GAME and thats about it

Maybe I should make a map for this comp, it could be fun to release something before HL2 is out... It wouldn't surprise me if my map ended up being the worst one though
