Yes, you can take your half-life one maps and open them in 'Hammer 2' or whatever it's called, then play them in half-life 2, adding models and stuff if you want.

It's the 2D HL platform game. And no, you can't play it even if you try to use a GCF extractor on it

No. Well, shouldn't do anyway, it's a 'fan'/community created thing.

I don't think that Valve released an exact date. In that inteview with Gabe "the hutt" Newell by HLRadio, he said, "We'll release it as soon as we're finished with it" and that they're eager to get it out. However, I doubt there will be any more major delays, as they're almost done playtesting. July seems to be a very solid release date, but, keep in mind, no one has officially said it ... or maybe there's an article I didn't read.

July will be a good time to release, seeing I finish my exams at the end of June. God, it's almost on us. I keep thinking it's eons away.

Not form Valve or Sierra/VU, that's for sure.

Nah its pretty obviously a false date given by somebody or else the world would be making a bigger fuss (a la Halo 2, with the November 9th date), though it is perhaps a fair estimate.

I think it would be around August if anything.

Halo 2's video this year was pretty lame, but then I've given my opinion on this topic in another thread, and reiterating it seems a bit pointless, so I won't bother.

I disagree, that map seemed rather impressive. Some really nice setpieces and such there. I really prefer the look of Halo 2's environments to Halo's - seems more dirtier and down-to-Earth.
... But yeah. I could care less how one can blow up a Warthog with a rocket launcher. Especially when it takes up nearly half of the presentation time.

I just don't think it made for interesting watching, it wasn't selling the game as well as last years video. This was no doubt of use to journalists as almost a "new feature list", but if this was the first I'd seen of the game and hadn't played the first one, it wouldn't convince me to buy the new one.

But how many people who have never played or heard of Halo are going to be downloading the launch date presentation for Halo 2?

I didn't mean the presentation video, I just meant the gameplay video of the master chief / covenant elite on the multiplayer beach level.

Well as water doesn't diffract light in the real world... diffraction is a rather different phenomenon than refraction.
