I'm gonna guess that the 3rd one is Alce in Wonderland... purely 'cause 'tis weird. That's some brilliant architecture, lighting's pretty good too, nice work.

Great work. And I know what all the fairy tale areas are too!...
The only way I can stop Ferret from beating me in the competition... Is murder.

I agree a beanstalk is a good idea! As for the rest call me crazy but I liked the point-based lighting better... or at least the rgb values from it. With the light fixtures in place it seems a bit too shadowy. As was mentioned before the architecture is turning out really cool so why not show it off?

The map will include an enchanted house (only thing to be shown until release), alice and wonderland, hobbitville (LotR), Hansel and Grettel and Ali baba and the 40thieves.

Oooh this is looking cool, interesting idea and its been carried out
well by the looks of things. I particularly like the hobbit house, its
the only thing I recognised instantly, but then I'm s**t on the topic
of fairytales.

Those textures look great, but I must say that I've never seen a gingerbread house with swedish fish on it, or candy corn for that matter... you need some more peppermint swirls and gumdrops

Ferret, make the shadows clearer on the third texture, it's making the windows look odd in an otherwise photorealistic image. Very nice.
Your woman slapped you because you made a bad window?

that'd be cool if you could hop in that dresser and end up in alice and wonderland or something. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

you could make parts of the map duplicated somewhere else on the grid with certain rooms upside down and have certain areas teleport to them.
Like if you could jump in the dresser drawer, as JFry said, and teleport you to an identical room, just upside down.
That'd be awesome.

If you hop into the dresser you run into the room with the cloud wallpaper. Campaign Junkie recently was given the chance to run around so maybe he can post his thoughts. I just finished up the Hansel and Grettel section, so hopefuly I'll skybox it up and then attach the alice&wonderland.rmf and have a complete map.

The connectivity utterly, utterly pwns me. Seems kind of cramped (well, the house does), and the shotgun will probably be the most dominant thing in the entire map. Outdoor lighting is still kind of iffy, but once Ferret sorts out all that stuff, I can easily see this map winning.

Agreed, I played this map late at night, so my head was not to clear but, as Cjunkie said its a bit cramped but really gives the feeling your in a "fairy tale." I have never seen such a well thought out map before. Atmosphere and connectivity.. are amazing. winnar!~

This map looks better every time you show it.

Well, of course the bright one will look better if you don't bother to change the environment lighting to match the dark sky.

Hehe  I personally think the night looks a little better however, I think it gives a nice contrast to the light-ish texture set. Very close call though, both look good.

I cant comment on the skies.. way to hard to decide.. thats up to yoU!... anyways in the new pics... the one showing the house and new terrain.. the water fall thing to ur left looks way to bright.. you might want to get a new texture.. or do something about it maybe change the additive on it? Other than that looks good!

I'd say the day sky, just because it looks incredibly unrealistic, the night sky looks rather ... normal (as close to normal most skymaps come to).
It'd be cool if there was an easy way (or anyway) to have it alternate between them with a counter of somesort ...
