i am going to start posting destinations, and routes to them, from my home, here in this thread..

if you are an adult, or can answer for yourself as the one responsible, i would like to set up a rendezvous with those whom would be interested..

so far i have dates with Juim,KFS, and Doc Brasso, when i finally go thru their areas.. (to bad they live in directions i seldom go  )

anyways, i would appreciate, only people whom would care for a cup of coffee or somesuch to post in this thread..

this is my slow time of the year, so i won't be near as pressed for time as during the heavy seasons...

monday, i have a delivery in a small town in ohio..

its a suburb of cincinnati.. my travel route from jonesboro will be via kentucky, to louisville, up to cincinnati.. i plan on arriving at destination around 2 PM ..

anyways, i would appreciate this thread remain semi-pure

  not those kinds silly.. appointments, there is that better..

still i hope you guys not think me mean for the adult comment, but i would really rather avoid and angry parents, if at all possible.. meeting people in person is scary enuff, without the added burden of .... well you know..

i have met about 1/2 a dozen people since i got this job, and quite frankly, its scary as hell.. but, worth it

when i drive, i drive about 16 hours a day, and about 130,000 miles a year.. two hours "out-of-my-way" is not as important as, whats at the end of that 2 hours..

i have detoured much farther than that to see online friends, but i was assured that there were adults (or the equivalent) at the end of my journey..

you have no idea, what its like.. its thrilling and scary.. i was meeting people i had talked to online for over 2 years, and scared to death i was about to meet someone and alter my views of them...

real/online are not equal.. needless to say, i had a wonderful visit, and was even closer to them upon my departure.. it was time well spent

in 4 years, i have delivered to detroit only twice.. the outlook is pretty dim .. but i do go to buffalo about 3 times a year.. the last time, i couldn't get ahold of jinxy before i left out.. shame too.. but theres always next time

we have only one delivery destination in california, and its in the LA area.. but if i ever nab a run that way, SF is not to far to run up to... i haven't run the grapevine in over 6 years, it would be nice to see it again  .. if i run out west that far, i will be sure to notify you cass

Do you ever stop in Orlando, or at least Daytona?  I'm only about an hour from Daytona and Tampa...depending on I-4 traffic.

Hmm, If you ever stray as far as Portland Oregon...

I have the impression that distances are viewed in a somewhat different context by those of us living in north america. it may be that two hours sounds like a very long way to our UK friends.

i may hang out here more than anyone else, but other than PFL, i have absolutely no interest in any other forums..

shoot, some of you guys are my best online friends, and have forums of your own, and i don't visit them either..

i spend far to much time at the two sites i do frequent, i couldn't imagine adding more

Plus they kick you out after only one infraction- and the rules are really shaky on what an "infraction" is. Basically if you piss off a mod, you're out the 10 bucks you paid to join :/

Public transport is slow, unreliable and unsafe. Cars are on heavily congested roads, rendering a 2 hour journey nearer to 4 hours i'd imagine

You have to live here to understand, Cassius... transport is one of the downfalls of this country.

He's a trucker. He'll rip your eyes out with his belt buckle, ram a tire iron up your ass spin your intestines around like spaghetti saying, "YE HAW" when he pulls 'em out. He'll spit on your food if you look like a minority, and above all his sister is no man's woman except his.

and did you sneeze on the keyboard or somthing? (Okeechobee??)
Okeechobee Florida it sits on top of one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the US.. the lake is just a few feet above sea level and is only on average about 10 feet deep..

its about 40 miles x 40 miles long.. and has alligators in excess of 16 feet.. in the 1920's i think, during a major hurricane, the water overflowed, and killed 10's of 1,000's of people, since then, the corps of engineers built a dike around the entire lake, with a canal outside that to control water going in and out of the lake.

wipes brow

if you want more history, google search it

[edit]

here is a decent page on the lake.
