My flatmate brought my attention to it and suggested I give it a try,
but unfortunately I'm going to be busy for the next few days so really
ought not to. Than and I've managed to get myself into the mapping
spirit so hopefully I can get one last map out, and I don't want to
divert my attentions elsewhere in fear of losing it

I'm enjoying it so far  It's great just to boot up occasionally and you don't have to sit playing it every waking minute.
I'm playing as a Ranger/Warrior at the mo...with the highly original name of Adam H, so if you see me...say hello

Exactly  I was only interested because it has no subscription fees - and luckily its damn playable too!
Like I said earlier, if anyone is playing later, add me to your 'Friends' list and we'll have to form a 'Snarkpit' party or something  CJ was online last night but we were both in the middle of a quest and couldn't meet.
edit: If anyone does end up playing...stick your character name in this thread so I can add you to my 'Friends' list

well, dollars and cents are extremely tight around here, so i expect a full report on the gameplay of this thing before i will commit to buying it.. with saving for HL2 and a new card.
i'm off to birmingham today, so.. slay on ye weary adventurers.

Orph...it's not available to buy until next year. They're just running a preview for the next few days.
Gameplay is similar to Diablo - not overly complex like Everquest (which I played for about 20mins before uninstalling). You simply join a party and go off on some adventure  Graphics are really nice and the controls are nice and simple too. It's streamed so they can add new features/quests/events really easily so there will always be new things to do.
In fact, the closest thing I can compare it to is the multiplayer aspect of Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance on the PS2, but with more scope.

Character name: Bertha Big (Big Bertha and Bertha the Big were already taken! BASTARDS!).
I've been playing a lot of the Tournament mode lately; it's real
addictive. Plus, I get a real kick out of annihilating people with my
super-powerful lightning orb kill shot
We should make a Snarkpit guild, too... I think you need 500 gold though.

Well the trial is now over and I really enjoyed the game. Looking forward to the release early next year so I can level my Warthog up even more....he's tougher than my own character!
CJ started a Snarkpit guild too so hopefully it will be retained for the game's release  Cheers to CJ and Yak for adventuring with me too...even if Yak did need resurrecting too many times!

Long live the Snarkpitters! (tag is [SPit], convenient, no?)
Bleh, they don't have betas long enough. A weekend isn't nearly enough time!
However, I did like how levels were kept at 20. Kept things fair for people who didn't play all weekend, so they can still have a good time in PvP.
