If all goes well, Snarkpit will survive yet another of my 7,000 replies. Up to now, each time I got close Snarkpit started over with another version. /me wonders, how long will it be before version V ?

Don't hold your breath yet Orph - as the Myrk man can testify and i'm sure you're aware I think the Lep brother is just starting into his final year(s?) and his dissertation at the most prestigious University in the world, so time is money and all that.

Of course, if you have the intellect it's probably a push over (hah!) but I expect studying is taking top priority at the moment.

And to think I would be just a year behind in those educational stakes, had I worked. My tutors said I was Cambridge material though, far from Oxford - and certainly not Mathematics shudders.

Never mind

Gwil, so are you implying that Lep is an Oxford man?

I am so glad that I am done with schools. Work can be tough and
frustrating sometimes, but nothing beats the stress that comes from
school exams. I've taken enough standarized tests to trigger a
gag reflex when I even think of them.

Yes, I cartainly understand how Lep might not have much time. I haven't signed the papers yet, but it's looking like the next few years of my life will be devoted to PhD studies in either Seattle or LA... Don't have much time now just working. I think it will be pretty crazy once I'm back in school.

Have you guys thought that maybe there doesn't need to be a version five? Just continual improvements to make the current "set up" more functional. Starting over wouldn't really do much good, I would imagine.

[EDIT]

I just noticed my snarkmark number is: 1234. Weird.

I have more posts than I thought. I'm usually average on the post
counts...I tend not to reply a million times in every thread, I get a
word in or two...and rarely look at posts and in this case snarkmarks.

I still haven't cracked the 1K. Just not much I see to respond to anymore... especially as the discussion has been unusually gaming-centric recently.

I only have about 0.5K .Well, I don't talk much, I guess. But Orpheus is right, WHEN will
this constant updating end? Updates aren't always a step in the right
direction since I haven't been able to change text color since
the last update. Oh, and where has the smiley tab gone off to?

I'd like to take this opportunity to discourage mass posting.

Quality, not quantity is what we emphasise. You don't really need to same your name up in lights at every opportunity, in all honesty!

The whole post count was changed to snarkmarks because people were just spamming the boards to get higher counts. Posting nowadays only gets you 0.5 snarkmarks per post

And yes Lep is at Oxford doing his final year. I think he's happy with the current version as it is to be honest. It all works fine and any changes made are only tweaks to the current coding etc. I can't see a new version coming any sooner than in 2 years tbh.
