I'll give it a shot too, though we need some practice before hand..!
PS I'm not sure if I have the right one, but the dm_frenzy I just downloaded is a godawful remake- I seem to recall the original having slightly better layout, and it even looked better than this tragedy.

There is no reasoning behind some people's taste  I haven't taken a look at it, but I can't say I expect to be impressed.
I'm up for having a practice, and am free tonight if anybody else wants
to have a go. We can just jump in the server and throw up a password I
guess....though I've actually no idea how to put on a password

FF off is a good thing, it means we CAN'T injure each other. Its when we play their map Frenzy that we will have to be careful.

How many times am I gonna have to say this  In order to play for the
clan, you need to be registered. In order to register you for the clan,
I need your steam ID (which you get by typing "status" in the console
during a game). Even after that it can take some time before you are
allowed to play, though I think since this is early in the league they
aren't too bothered about that part.

I just had an idea regarding the clan. You often find clans will
develope a set of custom sprays for the playing members, that all look
similar in some way but have the name and a unique image for each
player, or at least a limited set of generic clan sprays. If your up
for the idea I can do it for those members who actually play (not for
all SnarkPit members). It wouldn't be a hassle really, and it would be
something I could put in my portfolio as a sort of branding exercise.
It would also go towards part of my assessment for this session at uni.
It would also increase the image/profile of the clan, make it seem a
bit more professional.
Give me your thoughts on it.

I am not parting with my spray.. its my picture from the gallery of horror.
on second thought, we ALL should use them.. our own pictures would most definitely be distinctive.. if someone could figure out how to apply some text to say "Snarkpit" that would help too.

Just fixed it.
I was also going to ask if there are spectators allowed during the
match. I wouldn't mind cheering our team on, that is of course if I'm
up by 6AM tommorow morning  .

Actually, I'm not sure if I can be there for the whole thing- probably just the first 15/20 minutes (i.e. first game)

Quaver, you aren't registered for the clan. If you want to register,
post your steam ID (get it by typing "status" in the console during a
game) in the clan chapter of the server thread and I can add you.
Agent Smith, no spectating I'm afraid  HL2DM doesn't really have any
system that allows for that in place, so you'd have to join as a proper
player and just sit there dead the whole time (which is what the match
admins have to do).

errr, can someone tell me how to find/connect to the snarkpit irc channel. Never use irc - just downloaded mirc. If nothing else, at least pm me with the server password if I'm playing.

Its fairly straightforward mate  Basically all you need to do is run
mIRC, select any "Quakenet" server from the server selection list, and
once you are connected type "/j #snarkpit". Once your in people will be
able to talk you thought how to set things up for simplifying and
automating the process. In fact I think you can probably just click the
"IRC" link at the bottom of every page on the snarkpit, and it should
launch mIRC and connect you.

Just a quick reminder. The match is to be played in the SC server, with the following IP...
217.146.89.3:27025
It will be passworded, but I don't know the password just yet. We are
playing dm_torque, they are playing dm_frenzy, so if you are intending
on playing make sure you have both maps. Get in IRC ASAP if you are
interested and we are going to have a warm up in the snarkpit server at
20:30 GMT. Only 4 people can play, so we'll decide in the warm up who
is to play. We are playing for fun, but this is our first match and its
against a very tough opponent, so I say we pick who does best in the
warmup for our lineup.

The materials should go in the "materials/frenzy" folder, not dm_frenzy.
Well the match is over, and we got humped  Torque had its ups and
downs and we didn't do too badly, but they still certainly proved
themselves the stronger team. We were going to play frenzy for their
map, but for me and another player it was buggy (same problem as rebar)
so they agreed to play on lockdown instead. This was complete ownage to
be honest. I crashed out twice, and I think Oski and one of the pmers
players dropped also. If you took all my kills across all joins, I
doubt I'd have reached double figures  Fun game anyway, and good to
get our first match out the way.
I'm locking this thread now, so discuss anything else related to the match or clan in the clan sticky guys.
