American football = "ladyboy" rugby: This has to be the the most boring
game in the history of the universe. Two teams of neanderthals clad in
lycra tights, ludicrously oversized shoulder-pads and
buttock-accentuators go into a clinch every now and then (typically
between adverts) and um... that's it, really.

Hours of unalloyed tedium interspersed with micro-seconds of "action"
which could only be appreciated by those who exude a whiff of lavender.
Play rugby, you puffs.

Basketball = netball: As played by schoolgirls the world over.

baseball = rounders: See basketball

Ice hockey = the only exception.

Hockey isn't American. There may be games here and teams for that matter, but Canada is really the home of Hockey. How many Americans cared when the season was delayed?

But, Hey, we also have strongman! I don't think there is anything wussy about pulling a semi with your teeth or throwing grand pianos filled with molten lead.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I agree Hockey and Lacrosse are the only sports worthy to exist. Soccer
should be banned from the planet. If your caught playing soccer and
your a dude you should have your testicles chopped off on a first
offense and on a second offense your penis. then the 3rd your dead. if
your a girl you should have your ovaries ripped out on a first offense.
and on a second you have your vagina sewed up (no anestetics, pure pain
and agony). 3rd offense is death

I would go on a serious rant about how much soccer is gay. but im to lazy.

I'm a bit confused... Who, exactly, are you agreeing with? No one else
in this thread likes either hockey or lacrosse (jake said ice hockey),
and the rest of your post was about soccer which hasn't been brought up
yet. Soccer isn't even a north american sport (going by it's popularity
there).

Anyway, I kinda agree with jake. American football and baseball are
really pathetic. Play rugby and cricket instead (respectively) ya
wierdos.

ummmm, I dont belive there is a difference between Hockey and Ice Hockey.
Not in America anyway. If your reffering to Field Hockey or Street
Hockey they have different names such as Field Hockey and Street
Hockey. Hockey is Ice Hockey, most people dont need to put the ice
infton of it to understand what people are talking about.

Soccer f**king owns. Best team sport ever.

Its the perfect mix of strategy, skills, and fittness. Anyone can become good at soccer - you don't have to be 7 foot tall or weigh 350 pounds or be able to run the 100 meter in 10 seconds - the game is versatile and can accomodate a wide variety of playing styles. Plus when you play soccer with people around your skill level the game is like crack, its just so fun.

So in conclusion, Windows98 you are full of crap. (at least in terms of hating soccer).

I'm not that huge on sports for the most part. Playing them is one thing, but watching is just boring.

But, the only sport I've ever seen where I can see an insane amount of skill, precision, team work, and overall technique, is Football (soccer). It's a game where the entire team matters, unlike basketball, where you have one or two people that are insanely good and just score like crazy. You can't do that in Football: You'll get massacred.

It's probably the best structured sport.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

played for a team you would know....but u guys just watch that damn TV

Sure does, its like "look at my purdy little dance when I scored da goal"

American football is a pussy sport full of show boating pansies. The
only armour you wear here in Australian football is a mouth guard. I
hate all meat head sports like football, but if I had a choice between
the two it'd be the Australian game I'd watch.

Oh and rugby isn't a Russian sport, its actually British, and a hell of
a lot of countries play it. They don't play it in the US because there
isn't any armor involved to protect their pansy asses.

If you do some research you will find that netball was based on
basketball as the man who invented it was asked by the Boston YMCA to
invent a female version.

Baseball and Ice Hockey both rule.

Yea keep dreaming, they would probably equal you do have to run in
rugby, it's just that rugby players are built more than football
players people seem to think their CV system sucks which is wrong.

If you want to see a psycho sport go see the Korean and Chinese

Also they have their own cheer groups in the crowd, who have these fan

</a>I played ice hockey for 10 years.

I played baseball for 11 years.

What do I have to show for it? Some 1st place hardware, a bad
shoulder, and s**tty knees. Sports are about as usefull as jogging.

Wow Supercobra, talk about being judgemental! What about people with
disabilities that stop them from doing sports? Are they loner nerds
with no life? I have friends that do no sports whatsoever, but they are
still in reasonable shape and are nice people. About 90% of the girls I
know do no sports, but by doing things like walking or going to the gym
its perfectly possible to stay in shape. The sports I do aren't the
sort you can just jump out and do whenever (snowboarding and ice
skating), so often I go a long time without doing any, but I'm far from
lacking a life or friends. Doing sport and being a nerd aren't mutually
exclusive either; its perfectly possible to be both, or neither.

How many Americans cared when the season was delayed?
*raises hand

I cared a whole lot when the NHL was on strike (granted not many
other people do), Ive always been a hockey fan, I try nd get saeson
tickets to the San Jose Sharks (no comment about not winning  ), and
I've playe full contact hockey for 3 years, and I must say its still
Heck-a-fun to play. There is no other sport that is hard hitting as
hockey is, and I dont care what anyone else says, getting knocked down
onto the hard ice by someone moving 30 miles an hour is gonna hurt.

I have tremendous respect for water polo players. I played for
about 1 and a half years but quit because I couldn't hack it and just
went back to swimming. I'm just not aggressive enough, and my
legs weren't strong enough, and I didn't have a strong shot. It's
a tough sport and is often overlooked.

As for all the negative bashing that's going on in this thread, I think
that's all ridiculous. Every sport that has been mentioned in
this thread thus far requires athleticism, talent, and dedication.

I take your point, Rival, but that wasn't my intention at all. What I
said was said tongue-in-cheek, I was hoping to generate a bit of good
natured banter back and forth - which I enjoy - as does Agent Smith it seems.

The trouble with communicating in print is that the tone of a statement
can be mis-interpreted. I'm fairly certain that I wouldn't have
offended anyone if they had heard what I said.

Fatty, You've never played water polo, + the correct Spelling is F?tbol.

Don't mess with keved, he's gustavo!

Also, It does seem a lot like the userd from other countries like to bash America. Just because we only speak one language and we start "international conflicts" doesn't mean that we're all bad. And, you gotta admit, we're pretty damn important...
