it started with duplo, then it was lego, and then it was a mixture of lego and technics. it ended with me and my bro competing for making the strongest car. the "sides" of the car were fortified with vertically attached pieces, connected via those black pins that you could insert in the holes in the techincs bricks. me and my bro then pushed the cars colliding, and the car that still had 4 wheels and a driver attached would win.
who's from denmark here ? there's a gigantic lego city over there, no ?
ps: maybe an idea for a fanatic: you could make a lego map using those monochrome textures, with the typical figures and such

There is a Battlefield 1942 mod based around Lego I believe, pretty sure I read about it in a PC mag a while back.

That son of a bitch took apart a les paul to make that?
Thats cool and all ... but jesus. Even if it was an Epifone Les Paul that would be expensive.

probably easy enough to pick up a busted guitar, and use the bits from that.
i'd be a lot more impressed if he'd went to the trouble of making it playable though.

even with the tension of the strings, some of those new fangled tecnix bits that have been mentioned, the ones with the holes, could have titanium rods inserted through them down the length of the neck and into the body. shortening the neck a little from the standard length would help too. and with lightest guage strings you'd be strumming away like something out of deliverance in no time.
well, maybe not.

Back on the Lego thing, i've used american lego (one of the richer
neighbours bought some back from a package holiday) and i can confirm
another lego fact!
British Lego, is different in its "slot togetherness" factor, to American Lego!

i can imagine that a piece of lego, coming back into the world after suffering such a fate, would not be the most fun thing to experience.

The little "o" rivet style things are larger on american lego, not
quite Duplo territory, but slightly larger  You can actually join
british and american lego together, but they're pretty difficult to
take apart again..
I recall also the american lego sets feature certain bricks that we don't, but don't quote me on that.

I have an absolute shed-load in my parent's loft, and I keep hassling my Dad to fetch it all down for me (along with my Transformers), but he wont. I might take advantage of the fact that their on holiday and raid their loft this weekend

Oh hell yeah.. back in the day me and my dad would wake up early just to watch TRANSFORMERS! ROBOTS IN DISGUISE! then the toys came out.. oh man I had battles between my lego robots and the transformers... I think it was ruined when the 3d transformers came out.. but I will never foreget the episode where they found optimis prime.. then they blew up the ship with him in it.. god that was sad.

Heh, as far as I remember I have the original versions of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Skids, Gears, one of the Insecticons (looks like a locust), and my prize possession, Jet Fire...with all the armour accessories  I had more but can't really remember without ferreting around in the loft.

I remember when I was younger I was upset that I couldn't get the Voltron "toys". They were expensive, being made of metal and all.
I guess they're planning on making new ones that are better then the old ones ... is that possible?
