More out curiosity than anything, of the maps you have ever
made/released which are you most proud of and why? And which of your
maps are you most disapointed in and why? If you dont make maps I
suppose you could do answer for whatever else you make (models, music
etc)

Oh, I love all my creations, totaling 0 completed maps, 2 half-completed maps, and 1000000 little test maps.

I really have to get going on turkeyburgers for FF though...

Hm I was proud of de_boshi because it was the first real map I worked hard on and actually finished

dm_lakeside was ok, could have been better...
Dm_coastland, man I think it can be improved greatly...

Dm_twhldedication is actually making me proud because it is yet another map i'm working hard on.

NF_Graveyard is my best so far and my favourite unfinished me is c13_beach which sadly is corrupt but I was happy at making a really nice looking cliff.

I'm proud of all my completed maps (and many non-completed) as I feel
that for the most part they are all quite different from one another
and represent hard work and learning experience in different themes and
techniques, as well as defining the way my skill and experience has
progressed over the years. I don't think I'd release something I wasn't
proud of in some way, which is shown by the number of levels I've
scrapped.

My favourite of my own levels is a tough one to pin down. Elixir marked
a huge improvement in my abilities as my second level, and though I
didn't really have the technical ability to make it run very well, I
felt it offered a fairly good and varied gameplay. I like the original
Echo for its atmosphere and playability, despite now seeing its room
for improvement. PX_Selfless, while unfinished, I'm particularly happy
with in terms of visuals. And though Flatshaded was rather poor in
terms of layout and playability thanks to technical limitations and
time constraints, I was hugely happy with it stylistically.

The only intrinsic value my maps have is when compared to maps so horrible that they look like champions. I use mine as a mark to compare others against.

Hmmmmm, proud of some, not of others. For instance, one of the few maps I ever finished, cs_apartments, I only finished it because I hated it!

My fav maps would be Duality because it was my last TFC map and
arguably my best one gameplay wise. It does get some league action
which was my intention for it (only in Australia and not UK sadly but
thats way better than nothing).

My other fave would have to be Russia which I did for medal of honor
allied assault. This won a competition and got
motm
at planetmedalofhonor. I really nailed the atmosphere in this one imo
and that was probably what won it for me, though sadly afterwards
everyone seemed to focus on gameplay flaws.

Most disapointing ones would include my max payne 2 map. It seemed
decent at the time but in hindsight I picked a very boring setting and
played things too safe. I feel kinda disapointed with my 2 HL2 maps
too, probably for the same reasons. They werent exactly fun to make.

I'm proudest of Zeromancer 'cause it's one of my few that I can look at and not be horrified.

This is an easy one for me, since I haven't really made too many
maps. The early ones are very amaturish, so my last map sort of
stands out by default.

In addition, I spent more than three months of hard work on this map,
which makes it very special to me. I am not sure whether I'll
ever have this much time devoted to mapping in the future.

Justice was my
favorite love child, no doubt about it. Even though it doesn't
compare well to the great maps at SnarkPit, it represents lots of fond
memories for me. It's also my first and only Source map.

I haven't finished a lot, actually just 2 maps that I call finished
enough, but of every map I created, I think I still like 'The Playtest'
the most. Though texture usage was a bit repetetive, it wasn't a bad
job for just 2 weeks mapping, I think. I've heard several people being
surprized by the combat I threw in...

But overall, it's fun to look back at old maps I made years ago. It's
like a sort of diary, or memory. Same goes with my drawings, I remember
things from the time I made that drawing when I see it again. That
alone is funny on itself already.

I'm pretty proud of most the maps I've finished / part-finished, those
being the ones up here on the SnarkPit. There are a few others floating
around that have been banished from my sight, or at least from any
server rotations. I still love them too though, bastard children they
are  .

PX_Selfless
This was one of the maps that inspired me to begin HL mapping, as was CJ's Nebula. I'd like to thank you guys for that. Too bad you didnt finish Selfless, i really would've liked to see it in game - let alone play with a PX team and frag some aliens in it.

As for the topic. I finished all the maps i began. For visuals i was least happy with Vaxin but the objectives made up for that, it was hella fun to play coop. My favourite is Armada.

I only created 3 maps in HL1(memory1, maus3, & Klingon_dm), as I began to teach myself the engine a bit late in the HL1 reign. DM was winding down by the time I had achieved the level of skill required to even release a map. I suppose klingon_dm was my best work. I converted some 200 custom textures from klingon Honor Guard and had some modest success with complex entities.Too little to late though .You can still download it from my map page.

I like sewer, despite never finishing it; suprisingly atmosphric for such a dated engine.

Maybe if you put all half-completed maps togeter, you would get a really good map! ^^
