Wow, that's quite a list Crono. There's no way I could be
anticipating that many games for a half-year span. Beyond the
economics of it, I wouldn't have enough time to devote to each
game. I'll probably buy that many more CD's before the year's out
though.

Consoles didn't exist 200 years ago. Your attempt at exaggeration is annoying and has utterly failed.
Worst game on any console? Are you retarded? If we're comparing, just in the realm of FPS', I can think of a worse console FPS' ... hmm.
It's a really well made game ... especially considering: IT'S AN FPS ON A HAND-HELD. You want to see a bad DS game? Pick up Lunar. (F*ck you UbiSoft!)
Gears of War has always been destined for the PC. Why? It's made by Epic. What is Epic? A PC game developer. Unreal Engine 3 was running on PCs like three years ago they just weren't finished with any games.
They just released Gears of War on Xbox first to get sales (and money from MS for moderate exclusivity, I gather).
Lionhead Studios does the same thing. Fable exclusive? Yeah, sure it is.
Not that games on the Xbox stay exclusive anyway.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

<DIV class=quotetext>Valve stuff allows you to use the keys now over steam and just download it. </DIV></DIV>
No way! I guess I don't plaster it all over the place like in the past but I (still) have a 24kbs dialup connection, which means not only can I not use steam or digital distribution but I can't even play any source game online cause I get autokicked for too high a ping. I love that server setting so much  Even better is when they lock the rate really high and won't let you reduce it, which makes your high ping even higher.
Oh and Metroid Prime1 is worse than Halo1. If I wanted my hand held through a 3d regurgitation of Super Metroid where I wouldn't die even if I tried I'd go plug in the SNES, use a game genie, and take some LSD.

Crono - I hope you get to play Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. We're working hard to finish it right now. I designed 3 levels for the game and am currently scripting all the gameplay for 4 levels. It's been a fun project and the game is looking more and more beautiful every day!

Stadric, The two DS games that make my hand cramp are Metroid and Star Fox. SF, of course, is substantially better than Metroid (even if the plot is worse).
Finger, cool.
Are those weird break-lines gone from the building collapsing in the city (I don't remember the name ... the big one). I saw a video being demoed by some Insomniac-type, where Ratchet was grinding down a rail while the city was being destroyed. While it was pretty nice, overall, at one point this building begins falling in the background ... and it looks terrible. There were some serious graphical errors (surfaces disappearing). Do you have any idea of what I'm talking about?
The only bad news I have for you, is I'm not going to play the game any time soon. I don't know anyone who has a PS3, and I'm certainly not buying one for a couple years, and even then, not new. It's got to drop 5 pounds and $350 for me to even consider it.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Star Fox Command is really good. It's very fun and has very strong multi-player. It has the same control technique as Metroid Prime Hunters, but you only need one button on the DS it self (shoot), which makes control easier and very intuitive, actually.
I'd rank that game up with MarioKart DS and Dragon Quest Heroes (which are arguably, the two best DS games to date).
The only bad part is the actual plot is so-so, and the game it self is pretty short, but there is actually replay value, since there are paths you cannot go down the first time through. The game also has a tactics element which is pretty well done.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

assassins creed looks sick.
GTA4
MGS#
Halo3
I may get a Wii so I'll get excited about those games when it happens.
But #1 is EP2, thats all I need. TF2 and Portals are just 16 pounds of icing on the cake.

Any of the DX10 only games, you will need to upgrade to vista.

Crysis runs on XP and Vista as does Gears of War. There are cracks out right now that get Halo 2 and Shadow Run to work on XP as well.
Lost Planet supports both operating systems too.
There's nothing "good" that is Vista only at this point in time.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I wonder how many people, like me, are determined to never buy Vista. The last poll steam said only 6% of people have downgraded to vista... but that was like 4 months ago.
Reality has become a commodity.

I have my current build set up to dual boot between XP and Vista. I haven't booted into Vista in about a month. Vista is bloated with all these "security" features that overall make the system harder to use. On top of that, figuring out how to disable that garbage is a job in its self. The control panel is crippled, even on classic view. Also, it doesn't even work correctly. Vista does not recognize what type of video card I have (Geforce 8800GTS) and refuses to let me install the correct drivers for it. I have tried everything from updated mother board drivers to BIOS updates, all amounting to nothing. I gave up and have yet since booted into Vista. Its trash at the moment. </rant>

I used vista for a while before switching to win2000, which seemed almost like a blessing after the troubles i've had with it. IMHO vista is pretty much a polished turd which fixes some bugs but adds a crap load of new ones. For instance the annoying limited-connectivity-for-no-real-facking-reason bug. All in all, it's just as unstable as XP (though the earlier builds are even buggier than system X), laggier, but pweeeeeeety.

It's not even close to being that simple. No one outside of Microsoft knows their code well enough to do it. The best alternative is Cedega and they're doing guess and check work based on behavior. The nasty thing about Microsoft though, is .NET. There is a method in .NET that encodes the binaries produced to such a degree that they are NOT feasibly reverse engineer-able. So, you can't even do a memory dump to look at what's going on, because things are so jumbled.
That aspect works perfectly ... but all the stuff we really need: "Buy Vista" says the MS rep.
Bunch of assholes.
The good news is, if you like id, most all of their stuff runs on Linux without any emulation.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I probably shouldn't ... but I'll ask anyway, for s**ts and giggles: What could possibly be so "unique", "customizable", and implore freedom of use that it is only available, no, possible, on a Microsoft OS? In this case, specifically, Vista?
I like how your opinion of the all encompassing "Linux" is based on screenshots ... such a complete evaluation could only be ascertained in that manner.
[comments]No bugs in "Vista", huh? So that must be why my laptop keeps getting page reference and kernel errors. Yeah, must bet that LACK of bugs.[/comments]
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
