Intercepted transmission_ a09hexg820000012c_the pelican>>> <22_12_2263/1145> <304.8mhz>
classified002> I told you, I have no idea
classified001> What?s it like where you are.
classified002> Its dark and gloomy in some areas, make that most areas. Some areas are very spaces and open though. There is a large structure near my position. The structure was most certainly not built by them. Its to perfect, to large. Maybe this is the ruins of an ancient race that they must of wiped out. The whole planet has been starved of energy and light. Apart from the monsters, its really lifeless here, I don?t know how the bastards survive. I guess its like earth right now. You know lifeless and all. Stupid Ice Age.
classified001> Well son, we have uploaded your co-ordinates and there are 15 squadrons headed to your current location, so sit tight son. Tell me more about your experience. How did you get there.
classified002> Well I was in New Hexam City, I was walking along a foot bridge that was above a highway. I saw 3 UNSC soldiers courageously fighting a bunch of those monsters. They died of course. The monsters where just mindlessly walking along the highway, just walking, they have no purpose unlike us humans. They live to breed and kill. They will never advance, they are just monotonous animals.
classified001> Would you relax son. The situation is being contained. The Public do not need to know about this outbreak. We will find out how they got here and where they come from. We will stop them! Will!
classified002> Sorry Sir, well at the end of this bridge was a door. I approached the door with my rifle in my right hand and pressed my ear against the cold door. I heard nothing. Then suddenly the door opened. There was a man in a suit holding a briefcase and a team of soldiers behind him wearing gas masks and holding what looked to be the really old standard issue UNSC weapon. The man with the briefcase stared at me then everything ?
classified001> You mean the Gman. He died in 2217. Gman was onboard the Louts shuttle when it mysteriously exploded and crashed onto an extraterrestrial planet. Everyone onboard died in the crash. He was the commander of a small team who where searching for salvation during the Ice Age.
<classified002> Salvation? What where they searching for? I?m confused. Why isn?t the Gman dead!
Pvt. W Jenkins> Sir, your needed in the engine room. Command says it?s an emergency.
COMMAND> Evans, the ships structural integrity has been compromised. Proceed to engine room immediately.
[END TRANSMISSION]

Suggestions to improve your life:

1.) Get rid of drugs (especially the hard ones like PCP, etc) and alcohol.

2.) Please mark SPAM or NONSENSE as SPAM or NONSENSE:
Instead of posting a wicked story like this try to make a thread containing 63000 LOLOLOLOLs to fit latest Internet-standards and that the people in here are able to identify it as SPAM or NONSENSE.

This thread is about to skyrocket :kitty:

"they must of wiped out"

MUST HAVE

+ numerous other errors.

Just be balls out and tell us what you're doing. Viral marketing works
well for good writers and cash cows, not mods (in my opinion)

Props for doing something original, though!

The 'must of'/'must have' error comes from conjugations (I've know they were a bad idea since their conception). Must have became must've, and must've became must of.
Those silly English-speaking peoples, when will they learn to spell words are they are spelled, instead of how they are colloquially pronounced.

Back on topic...
The concept behind this seems very nice, it gives a vague idea of what the mod is about, and leaves us (or at least me), wanting more. Still, the spelling errors are ruining it for me.

I hereby nominate myself to be your official spell/dialog checker...I mean, if you want to...

I think this guy is onto somthing. By the way why, whats with the name of the topic. Is it some code name or is it just any old randam name.

I also assume that it is a radio transmission, cause <304.8mhz> is a radio frequency. And the numbers to the left of the radio frequency, is that a date? I am still trying to figure out what UNSC stands for. Well not really I thought about it though.

But the whole idea is very Interesting. I want to know more.

Maybe it's United Nations Strogg Candy (Yes I know it's a Quake reference and this is presumably based in the Half-Life universe, no I don't care.)

I agree that this kind of viral marketing works better when you've got professional writers doing the writing, and maybe a cool enticing flash site to go along with it (remember the teaser site for Portal?). Seems like it could be a cool mod, and I definitely want to know more, but I'm not sending the link to everyone I know, so I guess it's not too contagious  The dialog feels disjointed and forced.

I have seen things in maps before that make me grin, but that Spam logo just kills me.

I love it.

Guys can't you just type in hex code instead, it takes so much less space...

Reminds me of minerva. A bit hectically written but it could be a nice mod!

I tried reading a classical work whilst on travels in Oz and NZ - I
can't remember which it was, but the writing style seemed inaccessible
for the casual and modern reader. TBH, it seems the people who read
them or profess to having read them just do it for show.

Well, I can tell you I just sincerely want to read it, and have wanted to for awhile. Now I feel like I have a solid enough understanding of English to give it a shot.

I like reading older stuff, and especially love the originals to all the disney things. I read the original Pinocchio (dad translated it from German), and it's absolutely hilarious how disney twisted it. Same for Peter pan.

And if you get a chance, read the original Robin Hood. It's magnificent.

Wait a second, this isn't the recently read thread...

Ancient race wiped out? Pelican? UNSC? Pvt. W Jenkins? Gman? Sounds like a mod mix of Half-Life and Halo. Could be interesting though, I'm really not sure what to think about it with the presentation and all...

"they must of wiped out"

MUST HAVE

+ numerous other errors.

Just be balls out and tell us what you're doing. Viral marketing works well for good writers and cash cows, not mods (in my opinion)

Props for doing something original, though!
exactly. I noticed "Must of" along with the others.

i gotta say it's not original to join a forum and post one message and then leave.

cool, i didn't realise australian kids had jobs as security managers and musics teachers in the u.k.

with all this cheap foreign labour, it's no wonder our burglers can't find decent work.

well Frenchy, have you read the Odyssey, because the Illiad is the much more boring of the two, so you might want to try the Odyssey first unless you have already
