Misery - Good and quite scary and disturbing movie based on the novel by Stephen King. 4/5.

Shinobi - Great Japanese movie about the shinobi. Had some great things about it, for example there could be long fights without any music at all, which is unusual and fresh. 4/5.

enjoyed "Smokin' Aces" yesterday, they tried the "Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels" approach to story telling. Seemed to work okay.

I gotta watch "Smokin Aces", seems cool.

I watched The Shining (1980) by Kubric (sp?) yesterday, and it was nice. However, I didn't think it was that great, or scary for that matter. Could be because I was interrupted a couple of times, and the movie started to mess up about half way through, so I had to restart my comp and get angry. 3/5.

I've recently seen:

The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - based on a Stephen King novel. Very inspiring movie about never giving up. 4/5.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) - another very good, thought provoking movie. Jack Nicholson's performance is incredible, he even got an Oscar for it. I think everyone should see this one. 4/5.

Btw, when I'm ranking the movies I've seen it's based on personal taste and how I felt when watching them. I know many movies, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for example, deserve 5/5. That's why I might rate top movies a bit lower and an occasional not-so-good movie better than what it's generally considered to deserve, so to speak.

Right now, I'm picking movies from IMDB top 250 that look interesting and watching them. I've watched too many crap movies, always saving the good ones for later. Well, now is the time for those.

Yes. Being the only movie in which Nicholas Cage actually gives a fantastic performance. If you're familiar with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), the movie will be much more fun for you.

I suggest anyone who hasn't seen it to see it immediately.

That was a great episode. I don't want to say anything that might give it away, but for the first time in a while, I wanted to know what happened in the present as much as the flashbacks.

I've been watching house lately which is pretty sweet. In aus we up to the bit where he's been to court and he is not guilty and its revealed that the whole time house was in rehab, he faked the whole recovery. That was a nice episode.

I'm not sure if I already said this but I recently saw the Departed on dvd. It was pretty good, my mum cant shut up about it though, "aww that was so good", "aww that was a good movie", "awwww".

Can you folk tell me if Spider Man3 is any good. All my freinds at school saying I should go see it because its "so good", but I aint really into spider man.

Spider-Man 3, summed up in one word (compared to the other movies): disappointing. I'm going to see it again sometime in the near future so I can get a more accurate opinion of the movie. I was expecting an easy win after experiencing how substantially well made Spider-Man 2 was. But, if you don't care about Spider-Man and you just want some fantastic action, well that's there too.

I just saw Derailed. I don't know if I'd really suggest it, but it isn't bad. It's sort of has a sickening plot for the most part. All the characters, at some point, show some sort of unbelievably disgusting characteristics.

Not watching a show simply because it's popular is as bad as watching it only because it's popular.

Go (2001) - Japanese drama about a teenager and his love. For some reason Japanese movies always seem so fresh, and this one is no exception. 4/5.

I hadn't seen any of The Matrix movies, so I decided to watch the entire trilogy:

The Matrix (1999) - 5/5.
The Matrix Reloaded (2003) - 5/5.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003) - 4/5.

Really liked the style and mood of these movies, the futuristic, dark feel.

Alone with Her (2006) - 4/5.

Nikita (1990) - 4/5.

Smokin' Aces (2007) - 3/5.

Goodfellas (1990) - Gangster flick with De Niro. Must say I like Casino better though. 5/5.

American History X (1998) - Just finished this one, had never seen it before. Amazing movie. One of the things I really liked about it is how it shows the whole situation from different angles. I think everyone should see it, easy 5/5.

Hot Fuzz (2007) - I know many people love this movie, but I didn't find it that funny. Could be that it's not just my type of humor. Actually, very few comedies manage to make me laugh. 3/5.

Isolation (2005) - This horror flick was a bit different, and quite ok. 4/5.

Se7en (1995) - 4/5.

Singapore Dreaming (2006) - I was looking forward to seeing this one, especially as I might go abroad and study in Singapore soon. I found this movie quite slow and depressing. It has quite a good rating on IMDB, but it wasn't quite my type of movie. 2/5.

I've only seen American History X once. I was very drunk that
night, and the guys in charge of the remote just kept replaying the
prison rape scene and the scene where he stomps on the guy on the

I was that drunk.

I have to say, for the least plausible and most poorly scripted movie I've ever seen, The Day after Tomorrow was pretty good.

I saw Fevered Pitch the other day on HBO in a hotel room. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but it was as predictable as any other romantic comedy. I give it a 3/5 because I couldn't tell how bad the acting was due to poor sound quality.

The guy narrating that video is so dry, I want him to make a martini.

"The machine is a lot of fun to watch when a lot of marbles fall at once."

Scientifically, it's a lot of fun to watch of course. He doesn't
show it in the clip, but he did scientifically calculate a fun-to-watch
coefficient and found it had a positive correlation to number of
marbles. Otherwise, he never would have known.
