I knew there was a secondary motive!

Salutations to both of you, Otz - buy some beer and loose women enjoy it while it lasts! Fishy? Buy immunity from prosecution and hope to high hell your angling licence is in date, let alone in line with current statute.

You both have a winners bikini in the post.

grats. for me at least 20 was the most momentous birthday yet, no longer a teen and all that. I imagine 21 will be less momentous as I'll likely not remember much of the few days after it.
The sick thing is that time is going by faster and faster. =/ One year used to be an eternity.
Someone told me that the first 20 years feels like a lifetime, the second 20 like half of one, and his best guess is the next 40 after that is another half.

I was 18 a month ago. It is bloody depressing  For me, the ideal age would be 17. I don't drink alcohol or smoke so I've no need to be 18. 17 was fine because all I want to do is drive

Dang, if that's true I've lived more than half my experienced life. :o .. let's hope they hurry up with those eternal-life-pills.

and there my b-day ended 21 mins ago. Something good did happen today though. I hopefully got myself a first hand apartment contract for a decent apartment, which is kind of impossible. After that I had my birthday meal at McDonalds .. yay!

oh yeah, and happy birthday

yeah it sucks, but I have plenty of 21 year old friends, it really only makes a difference when they go bar hopping

at the same time, when one of my friends turns 21 it means i don't have an obligation to go buy them shots

18 for buying alcohol in bars in, but 20 for buying at the state owned shops that sell stronger stuff (~2.5% +) here in Sweden.

Wait, are you saying the bars sell beer that's under 2.5% alcohol? That is weak.

Sorry, I was a bit vague. At bars you're allowed buy strong liquor when you're 18 y/o, but if you want to buy outside of bars you can either buy at regular shops that only sell weaker stuff with an age limit of 18, or at the state owned shops that sell stronger liquor but with an age limit of 20.

Even still, the average beer here is 4% to 5% alcohol. And people say the beer is watered down in the US...

Those would be rated as strong bears here in Sweden. On top of that liquor is very expensive here, most vodka brands cost more than ~$47/liter.

Haha, yeah I can imagine.

I'm generally against state monopolies and huge taxes on products, but when it comes to alcohol in Sweden, I think everyone's better off with the high prices and limited number of stores and opening hours.
