Yeah, it's pretty bad in Lincoln, too. Maggie and I were actually supposed to go to Omaha yesterday. Yeah, that didn't happen. Still falling now and we're still in a storm warning until 9 pm. No idea what our total is.

At least classes are cancelled and my fiancee is over. It'll be a fun day to just lounge around. Just hope I don't run out of food  hehe.

Over here in Belgium, the sun is shining.

I want some snow.

Please wrap some up in a piece of paper, scribble "Forceflow's Residence, Belgium" on the envelope, buy something like a million stamps, attach them all to the envelope and get your *ss to the post office, snow or not.

Brasso: at least it's SNOW. When it actually snowed here for once (in Oregon) The next day it turned to ice . . . mmm yay. Not only can you not go out site and walk in it you can't go anywhere. Everything was closed fro about a week, gave me one more week of winter break  . And places like Les Swab started charging up the ass for chains, so no one bought them.

There's still like mounds of ice in places where people stacked it up to get it out of the way. damn it sucked. See if Tracer knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, but we never get snow. This winter is the first time it's snowed here (in the vally areas where everyone lives) in a few years and the bastard weather decides to freeze over. It was funny watching people brurn their tires out trying to move . . . what they don't understand is, do not hold the gas pedal down. lol (Another thing Les Swab started charging horendous amounts for).

I pity da foo who thinks Detroit is in Canada. lol

Tracer: Yeah it was funny as hell. It's like "hmm, I'm not moving . .. I know I'll HOLD the pedal down, maybe that will work . . . hmm doesn't seem to be working, there's a lot of smoke, I'll try it a little longer see if it does anything later . . . hmm . . . down to the rims . . . maybe the hot metal will melt the ice . . ." seriously A lot of people in Oregon do NOT know how to drive, such as going to Portland on 26 while they're doing construction. . . . .why are people going 35? I mean there is a 2 foot barrier between the road and the construction . . . they couldn't break though even if they wanted. lol

But the thing that pissed me off the most durring the whole "Winter Storm 2004" bull, was Vira Cats . . . I just think she's a bitch. (She's the mayor of Portland for those who have no idea what I'm talking about). There's no particular reason why I think she's a bitch . . . she just is. that bitch.

I pay no attention whatsoever to local politics. shrugs

What I thought was most entertaining is portlands complete inability to deal with the weather. I can understand not clearing all the roads, but they didn't even clear I-5 or 84!

Tracer: I know . . . I swear we have morons running certain parts of our state.

Brasso: Yeah, Oregon in general is pretty liberal . . . unless you talk to the hicks who live in Tillimook. . . .

However, most people who walk down the street are social assholes, at least you don't hear men yelling at women and grabbing them while they walk down the street, I mean women run half of Oregon, so lol.

Also, wanna know why they didn't start widening 26 until late '03? The last transmission director we had wanted the "max" (A light rail train that runs from several parts of oregon to other parts) to gain more money, so he wanted to make traffic WORSE so it would force people to ride the train. Now heres the thing. . .the max costs about the same as parking downtown, and it's slower then driving (even in traffic) . . . so why the hell would I take it?? His other reasoning was for people who shop! yeah because you always want to goto a furniture store (such as Ethan Alan, not that I shop there) and lug it back on a packed train with smelly construction workers and little dumb ass skaters who never take a shower to "rebel".

You know what you should think when you drive past a newly built skate park? "Look at all those individuals . . . . oh wait" the damn things are packed . . . wtf are they rebelling against? rebelling? I'm confused.

[/rant] I appologize for the ranting, hopfully it was entertaining.

It hasn't properly snowed for years here in the UK. Sure we've had a bit here and there but it's usually gone by the next day.

I remember maybe about 10 years ago that when it snowed it snowed - not as bad as what you've got at the mo Andrew, but enough to stop you getting to work. Once, we had no power and no water cos of the snow, and we all had to go to the local swimming pool to get water from it - which we then had to boil (if we had gas cookers, heh).

Wouldn't mind a bit of snow right now though, work is a bit crap and I need an excuse to stay in bed and wallow in self-pity

i have little interest in reading 3 pages about snowfall, especially since i just spent 3 days driving across it to Michigan and back

it was a mess out there people, and if you don't have to travel, please stay home, snows and/or ice in the levels i saw kill people.

stay home, drink something warm, or something that simulates warmth and enjoy the view, preferably from behind a double pane of glass

thats quite small for these parts, and rather tiny for up north standards..

i take it, housing is rather cramped where you live?

my current home is an old wood framed style about 2000 sq. ft i suppose. and its considered modest.

personally i don't notice how big it is till i have to heat it, during the winter months, it seems gigantic.

Think of it this way, We asked for just over 120,000 pounds for our bungalow.

i am sure its comparable all over given certain criteria.

here in Arkansas, you can buy 1 acre for $1000.00 or less depending on location, or as much as $100,000.00 (possibly more in commercial zones)

i have heard in new york city, or L.A. property is so scarce, you buy it by the square foot, and by the millions.

houses around here in jonesboro go for $180,000 new and $45,000 used on average i reckon.

(note: i leave it up to you to do the conversion from dollars to pounds)
