I just started playing this wonderful little indie adventure game called Machinarium

http://machinarium.net/demo/

It's $20 on steam, and IMO well worth it (but there's a demo if you follow the link above). The art, sound, and design are superb - very surreal, dreamlike, beautiful, spooky, funny, qwirky. At times it reminds me of:
  • out of this world
  • Halflife
  • City of lost the children
  • Steamboy
  • Howl's moving castle
Check it out!
Oh, wow, yea I played the demo and I was sold. Bought and played it for a good 4 hours with some friends so far. Not finished yet but enjoying the heck out of it. It's got some pretty hard puzzles I must say. Nice find Finger!

I am unsure of an exact count, but I am confident that counting all versions of snarkpit and considering that Lep restarted the postcounts almost every time that my post count would read somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000. Several times I broke 10,000.

i just noticed it doesnt matter if you look at our sun going around the earth, or the earth going aroudn the sun.

since theres no proof for either of the suggested orbits, and both models equations work just aswell for calculating events in our galaxy, its just a question of relative motion.

Eh? :| Of course there's proof. Didn't you study the heliocentric arguments versus the geocentric theories of medieval times when you were in your early years of schooling? Didn't you study Copernicus?

It may not appear to make a difference from our eye-based perspective, but it certainly is different. Just as much as Drane-O looks like blue Cool-Aid, but it isn't. -And that's a fact too! (see below)

Mmmm... Riven I don't think he was necessarily saying it was true but more quoting it? I was about to say that there is indeed proof for a heliocentric solar system too. :geek:

Recently played through The Lion King for SNES for a retro weekend we had over at a game stream where I'm a producer.
Reminded me of how awesome the songs were and decided to listen to some of them on youtube, happened to stumple upon this.

Why didn't I hear of this before now? most definately going to London sometime next year to see this, looks absolutely amazing.

Also hello.

A couple of months ago when my grandmother had to leave her house for a home, I was given the familys old record player.

Two hours ago my dad found out that he hadn't thrown out his record collection when he moved, but had indeed left it at an old friends house for storage.

8 minutes ago I put on Stairway to Heaven from an original pressing of Led Zeppelin IV and reached pure spiritual and sexual enlightenment.

I had seen these music videos a while ago, but only recently had I re-discovered them by being reminded by a friend. -And behold to my ignorance, the guy made two more! The website is the Symphony of Science -heard of it? The first one (the one on top in this post) is the first one he made. It features some TV scientists such as Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, Richard Feynman, Richard Dawkins, Michio Kaku, & Richard Jastrow; being someone who loves science and astronomy and living amongst people who care more about their (American) football games and whatever Fox News has to say, these music videos actually sent tears down my eyes. The Universe (and indeed the multiverse) are just AWESOME. I hope you enjoy them! :D Here are the videos you'll find on his website:

I've known those videos for quite a while Riven, loved them ever since I saw the first one, they make me want to do science.

I just finished Assassins Creed 2 today, biggest mindfuck ending ever, and an even bigger cliffhanger than the first game. The game beats the living crap out of the first one though, if you have the chance, get it and play it.

Just found this a couple minutes ago. (It was on joystiq, but seeing as they're quite derogatory to not-xbox, I figured I'd just post the source)

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1093025

This dude's modded HL2 to have many of the upgraded effects from EP2 (like the 360 versions, that valve won't release the content of on Steam for some unknown reason. As far as I know it wasn't contracted in any way.)
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

We changed it so that the edit time increases with the number of snarkmarks - 100+ = 7 day edit time, 200+ = 30 day edit time.

Unfortunately I made an error in the code that does the check for this... sorry about that - it's now fixed, so you should now have a 7 day edit time from your time of posting Juim. Let me know if you have any more probs!
