The background in our pit where files are listed has changed to white.

Not for me, still looks black (in Firefox).

I like the new quick reply look, very neat and tidy, along with the
other changes sorta like that. I think you should put the
condensed/normal/print links into the centre, and have the reply option
returned to the bottom right, however.

It's white for me in opera and IE... strange indeed.

Really like the new forum layout with the green boxes. :smile:

My pit screen is now a brilliant white as well. Plus there's a Runtime Error when loading the forums saying that at Line 17 an object is required... the site's falling apart!

Hmm, it seems to work perfectly fine with Firefox 0.8. The only problem
is that is has to wait for all the images on a page to load first
before the reply box will 'activate'.

Yep. Let me know if you have problems with the new show/hide gubbins on the reply box too- it was getting annoying scrolling wise...

The "Click here to reply to this message" part is a bit awkward,
sometimes its there, sometimes it isn't. It probably should always be
there when the reply box is minimised, but shouldn't be when its
opened, or at least thats what I guess you are wanting it to do.

:wtf: "click here to reply to this" :wtf:

sorta reduces the "quick reply" back to a "normal" reply doesn't it??

i could see a "hide quick reply" but not a "redundant alternate reply" link :wtf:

could be just my browser, but without the quick reply the way it was this morning, its no longer as useful.

[edit] could we have it, by default always show?? [/edit]

And place that normal, old-fashioned reply-button back at the bottom of the page. I hate scrolling up after reading a thread :razz:

It used to be one in the bottom right corner too, but Lep shifted the
"normal / condensed / print" links over a bit and removed it. No real
need for it, since there is a reply after every post, but I personally
think it looked better before.

The reply page is now totally pointless unless you want to quote someone, that's why I shifted all the formatting over to quick reply. You'll get used to it, trust me :smile:

I have a small request.
On the image viewing pages (such as viewing the images for a map), could you move the resize window code to take place before the images get displayed?

or do you use the final image size to determine the window size?

The only reason I ask is because, personally, I maximize the windows before they're done loading the images, so once they're done they get resized. It'd be cool if it just did the resize code first so that they don't change once the image(s) begins loading.

If I could do it, I would have- as far as I know the page has to load first before it can do that :/ Javascript is such an annoying language- no useful error reporting, and browser support of it and different versions is just :leper:

Between that and birthdays it'd be a lot of clutter. Get Lep to make/steal a calendar page or something like that. I doubt he'd be keen on the idea though, it's farily trivial.

true enuff, but if its available, not everyone will chose to fill in the blank.

i like the idea of a birthday announcement, but some might not.. the anniversary thing.. was just a passing thought.. i'd rather have the birthday thing..

a calendar link would suffice much better.. we could put in our own days to remember annually :smile:

they have a birthday field on some forums... I personally do think it is quite nice to see other members birthdays, perhaps even a small notice at the bottom of the forums, like vB - say "3 User(s) are celebrating their birthday today, Orph (25), Wild Card (67), Leperous (5,000)

(tables turned now eh wild card! :razz: )

also in signatures '&' comes up as & and quotemarks come up as &qot;

Orph that yellow in the email field is caused by the Google toolbars auto fill feature you can change it in the options of the toolbar

So, is the window size fixed like the "users online" pop up? Or do you change it again once you have the image size?

If not, just put a script window resize command at the beginning of the body of the image php code.

If you do have to know the image size use php's getimagesize function.
If you feel it's too much hassle, forget it, its fine. It's just annoying having the window resize all after maximizing it :smile:

[EDIT]
I better follow my own suggestion.

Couldn't you try something like:

<SCRIPT>
<? $image = getimagesize('image_source'); ?>

window.resizeTo(<? echo $image[0]+30 ?>, <? echo $image[1]+30 ?>);
</SCRIPT>

at the beginning of the body?

Crono, something like that would work, but I'd rather look into something client side first for various reasons- I think if I just moved the current code into the body and not did it 'onload' it will work fine.

Orph, clicking the snark icon next to a thread takes you to the bottom of the page, I don't really think clicking the title should take you to it- that would be great if everyone always followed a thread from the beginning, but that's not what happens in real life :smile: I'll think about birthdays, and maybe have a little announcer in this forum or somewhere. And like I said, I'll sort out the reply box showing/hiding when I get some time.

its not exactly what i had in mind, but it will suffice.

you know i am away for days at a time, so i was not really thinking of me when i made the suggestion, most are here daily and it would benefit them most.
