How about some soldiers chatting behind a locked door, so when the player goes to it they think a load of bad guys are going to burst through.
If you look in the C:/Sierra/Half-life/valve/ambience you can always nick sounds from other peoples maps and any defaults in there.
If you've got a microphone you could always make some of your own up or record strange noises or something.

If you have opposing force, try looking there for a wav file (I can't remember what its called, something like neon.wav) which sounds like those humming strip-lights. That could help matters...

if i may....the only real way to make the ambience of your map "sing through loud and proud" is to do your own sounds.....its really not that complicated, and a hella lotta fun to do.....actually, fun for the whole family if ya do it right.... :heee:
and there are plenty of free sites on the net with tonage of sound effects....personally, im pretty fond of sound forge 4.5 to do my editing on....very user friendly...
Dr Brasso...dodgy:

We did a short module on soundforge at uni here, seems like a cool program. Only thin I could make from scratch was s**tty explosions and gun shots, but it was fun to muck around in

I think <em> is "emphasis", and it just makes stuff italicized; according to that board of idiots (W3C), you should use <em> instead of <i> in certain situations. I forget why.

It's point is... to help blind people surf the web? (So people know when there's meant to be an emphasis on something) Being in the UK, I am actually legally obliged to make this website easy to navigate by blind people- or else I can be prosecuted- which is odd, given the illegal porn, spam, etc. which are 'doing the rounds' these days. Bwahahahaha, me as a criminal mastermind, dedicating my efforts towards making life harder for blind people, surely that <em> stripping code I wrote will confuddle them!
