New Coldplay and Foo Fighters songs this week
Just got Speed of Sound by Coldplay - damn it's good. Vaguely reminiscent of Clocks as well...

I've also (re)started listening to Bloc Party - Helicopter, The Pioneers, and Compliments are great tracks (imo, of course  )

Man, if Coldplay can put out another great album, they will have made
it as a legitimately good band. Two good albums could be a fluke,
but three would remove all doubt.

Clocks was the only Coldplay song I liked; if they manage to put out a whole album like Speed of Sound, I'm sold.

And to listen to the new Foo Fighters song,
listen
to the beginning of Zane Lowe's last show
.

"Tiptoe, through the window, by the window, that is where I'll be, so tiptoe through the tulips with meeeeee."

Oh man, what a funny guy. I don't know why I know those lyrics, and I am ashamed.

Why would you want to listen to Tiny Tim anyways? It's earal-abuse.

Got hold of a new song by Avenged Sevenfold called Beast And The Harlot
which is an interesting listen because its not really like their old
stuff, not sure whether I like it or not. Singer cant do any prolonged
shouting now so theyve had to change their direction a bit.

Also listened to Heat by JJ72 at their website. Miles heavier then
their old stuff, probs explains why they on the main stage at Download.

Oh my life is now complete, now that I know where Souljacker part 2 can be found! (never heard the whole album).

On the radio, there seems to be a huge number of lyrically-devoid pieces of crap going around right now- for example, new Black Eyed Peas (rhyming cheater, leave ya, senorita, amnesia and believe ya in the same verse- how tenuous...) and Gwen Stefani's disgraceful Queen rip-off (a minute spent repeating "this s**t is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s"). And don't get me started on the new Ludacris song (the words "electric-fireplace" and "bandwagon" come to mind) or any of the vapid rubbish that J-Lo (featuring the composing masterpiece and King amongst men "Fat Joe" once more), Ja Rule, etc. etc. are putting out soon too. Oh, and Missy Elliott featuring my favourite person ever, Fatman Scoop.

These, my friends, are musical equivalents of killboxes. They're functional but nothing more, and if you like them, you're either crazy or 12 years old.

Phamtom Planet - Negatives: Quality CD though I disagree with the last few songs, generally great catchy songs though.

Phantom Planet - Phantom Planet: Definitely a more rock-y sound to this one, not quite as good as Negatives but still good, especially 1st Things 1st.

The Dandy Warhols - Welcome To The Monkey House: Overall pretty decent with an upsetting mish-mash of good and boring songs.

The Features - Exhibit A: Incredibly great album, catchy as hell, no songs are even near bad.

Limp Bizkit -- The Undeniable Truth (Part 1)

Wh they're trying to pass this off as an album, I'll never know (7
tracks and less than half an hour long? this is an EP fellas). If you
didn't like LB before, don't bother. If you did, you'll like it. Simple
as that really.

Blegh, got a bunch more CDs over the past... while.

Floater - Burning Sosobra: Awesome rock CD, local-ish too. "Independence Day" is worth the cost of admission.

Mando Diao - Bring 'Em In: Crazy Swedes making pop-rock, great stuff.

Mando Diao - Hurricane Bar: Same as above.

Phantom Planet - The Guest: The PP CD that has the theme song from the OC on it, oh my... still a decent CD, though not as good as their others.

The Features - The Beginning: Just an EP at 15 minutes long but pretty good stuff... not as good as Exhibit A but still good.

Quasi - Hot s**t: Kind of a strange band but I had to acquire them due to their relation to Heatmiser and thus the local-ish area. I really wouldn't recommend this to anyone outside of hardcore weirdos.

I just got Zeppelin 4, and I absolutely love it. I've listened to it nonstop this past two days.

I also got Queen's Live at Whibley (sp?). I love Queen.
Queen and Zeppelin make a great combo on my stereo. They sound
great live.

Rooster's self titled album, apparently it's suppose to be the new

Heatmiser - Cop And Speeder: Historical significance so I had to get it, not too shabby though it's still my least favorite of theirs.

Quasi - Featuring Birds: I haven't managed to download all of this album yet but so far it's pretty damn good.

Quasi - Field Studies: Same as above.

Robbers On High Street - Fine Lines: Short but great shizzle, sounds a lot like Spoon.

released. I preordered the latter, but unfortunately it hasn't arrived
yet  I kinda got my dad into Alkaline Trio so I'm hoping he will pick
up their new album - I'm strapped for cash enough as it is.

Their last album really grew on me, but one of the songs that I loved
from first hearing it is probably one of my favourites of them all -
"Every Thug Needs a Lady". Also loved "Take Lots With Alcohol" from
their previous album. The songs that really got me into the band were
some of their earlier ones I heard on record label samplers, such as
"Cringe", "For Your Lungs Only" and "Bloodied up".

bought The Gorillaz', Audioslave's, and Alkaline Trio's new
albums. Have yet to listen to them but I'll post my thoughts when
I do.

Village People - YMCA, In the Navy and Kunf-fu Fighting.
These were pretty popular around the seventies. In think these are all
the songs they ever wrote. If you ask me, it's better to
have 3 hits than 100 crappy little songs. Oh yeeeees, you could hear
these songs on the radio even in the nineties and are still many people's (myself included) favorites.

Kung-Foo Fighting was done by Carl Douglas. He was a one hit wonder from Jamaica.

Other good songs:

Cyndi Lauper - All Through the Night (80s)

Firehouse - Don't Treat Me Bad (rock, 90s)

Steven Curtis Chapman - Dive (Christian, 90s)

Gwen Stefani - Hollaback girl (Pop, 2005)

I've been snagging as much Songs: Ohia as I can, really great stuff if you like/tolerate the mellow acoustic rock.

The new System of a Down CD is more boring than all their rest IMO, though Lost in Hollywood and Sad Statue are amazing songs.

The "new" QOTSA album's the only one of theirs that I like. Great stuff all around.
One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

The "new" QOTSA album's the only one of theirs that I like.
While I reckon the new album by the Queens is pretty good, I thought songs for the deaf was better.

Just bought Tyranosaurus Hives albumn by The Hives, which is pretty
awesome, as well as the original Blues Brothers movie soundtrack albumn
for 10 bucks in a bargain bin, some awesome stuff on that one too.
