I Need Your Face! For a Project!

Sorry but it was hard keeping track of people using Private messages so for those who don't know I am making a map dedicated to TWHL, Snarkpit, Hl2files, Iwannamap, interlopers and favourite things such as films, food etc.

*Note this 'IS' not the map as you see below because the pictures below are 'NOOBISH' and I only made it to test the custom textures out!

In the private messages I asked for your permission if I could use your picture and place it in my map. I wan't to make a wall of members and I would be grateful if you posted a picture in the dimensions power of 2.
If you are shy like some people then just say use ther avatar instead.













Note that I already have Reno, Satchmo, Addicted to Morphine, Cassius, Mephs, Rabidmonkey. I asked Leperous but he hasn't replied.

You'll have mine asap.. however, it's going to be done with a webcam.. That ok?

If you wan't a room dedicated to 'you' alone then say so and place a picture of the shape, size, colour etc.

To be honest any size that is the power of 2 is fine.
I find bigger pictures better because when cramped together the quality looks so much better than a stretched one!

I posted this same thread on TWHL and I have many pictures now!
The more pictures the better the map gets!

That pic is a few years old, I still look pretty much the same though except my hair is shorter.

Well I just recently got a $1000 digital camera, so I'll get a sexy pic
of me for the gallery and this soon, once my parents can trust me to
hold it.

This is going to take a bit of time to convert and again thankyou.

I posted this on TWHL and it goes for you guys as well:

If you want a room dedicated to you yourself then either draw a paint
diagram of the shape and design or to make it easier for me, make the
room yourself and send it and I can put the custom textures on
the white spots you leave.

Remember it's for HL2DM and you don't have to make it if you don't want to.

This is going very well so far and only one image isn't working so I
will have to fix that once I figure out who's it is. When I have a vast
majority of photo's I need to come up with a design and I would be
grateful if you could assist in ideas.

Anyway I have some news on what is going on!
As you can see above I posted a picture of all the people I have so far from TWHL and Snarpit.

Now I was planning on making a map dedicated to the sites but I changed my mind slightly and thanks to 98 and Elon I have decided to make a room dedicated to each member who's face I have as a texture.
Now I am going to design a room each and place your face on a wall opposite to another wall with a small description about you.
I don't know much about all of you and I am merely writing what I think of you guys (no negatives!).

For example I am going to make a room for Seventh and I might write something like:

Seventh is a nice young man who helps newcomers when they are stuck. I have never seen a nicer guy and that is why this room is dedicated to him!
/\ That is only an example and Seventh, that is what I think :wink:
So there is the little details I don't know such as Real name, age etc...

If you don't want these details written down then say so here before I do so and stupidly I have so many faces that I forgot what ones belong to which member. I can remember a few like Hunter, Seventh, Elon etc...
So later on when I have a list I will post it here.

Ok update:

The idea of the map is to have a room dedicated to each person.
I will make a room for each person and decide a sort of theme.

I also want you to tell me a song you might like played in your room by pressing a button.
Please if you want to have a song then make sure its a small one and a link is posted here.

Also the rooms are looking a bit empty so you may choose 5 pictures from the internet to be placed in your room.
Please no Pornography and jokes like President Bush are ok.

just by the screen alone I count 30 images.. how the hell do you realistically plan on making a map with 30 rooms/areas?

I would advise some sort of a realistic goal, if you are counting on any sort of quality that is.

I think people can handle 30 rooms.
My computer is relatively good but those who have oldish computers will have to try to cope.

We will see how this goes and I have a plan that will save a lot of R_speeds.

Get with the program, R_Speeds is no longer the primary concern.

This is an example of the sort of room i'm aiming for.
Everyone will have a different theme with different textures and I hope to achieve a standard map.

i always took it that r_speed = rendering speed, which is still as important as it was in hl1. it's just that there are more things that'll affect it now compared to only world and entity polys.

My aim is to build a room for each person. At the moment I have made SariBous from TWHL and next is Anthony.

After I have done the TWHL crew i'm moving on to you lot.
So by the time that is done make sure I have your photo if you want to be in it and if your really desperate then post a song to be played in it.

Yeah you are right fishy, and +showbudget is still displaying the time
it takes to render (or in some cases, calculate) all the different
components contributing to the frame. To be honest I don't get why they
didn't just keep it as "r_speeds" - its just the same thing but it
happens to have far more info.

Habboi - a room for every person sounds like madness! Even if it does
run ok, I can't imagine it being a very fun map if its just a mass of
rooms. Then again, this sounds more like a tribute than a playable map.

Each room will be different and thats up to the player if he likes it or not. It may not be fun but I just want to show you lot how much respect you have from me.

Anyone else notice what's happened here? This has nothing to do with helping somoene out, its an exercise of ego boosting.

If you consider that, in general (and no offense habboi) people
wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, suddenly people are falling
over each other to have their ugly mug in his map.

It speaks volumes for our characters....

While we're on the topic of faces, check out http://www.faceanalyzer.com for a quick laugh- it's not very good (it thought a picture of me as a Viking with a beard was a woman with high politeness) though see what happens if you try it with Bush/Mugabe/someone.
