I am watching my borrowed copy of batman.. Why has no one mentioned that Liam Neeson was in this? I would have went to the theater had I known.

Nevermind.. Perhaps someone did and I overlooked it..

Did you even watch a trailer for it?
Oh and, according to Adam West: all three "Cat Women" "rumaged around in [his] utlity belt" as he put it.

No, Liam Neeson is awesome. He's always awesome though, his praise is not needed, since he always gives a good or amazing performance. Him and Daniel Day Lewis are my favorite parts of Gangs of New York. He was the only really good thing in Kingdom of Heaven too.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I thought it was hillarious on many different levels....and...in a way, it had different humour from South Park. The whole thing was just a farce on big-time big-budget movies/actors/producers, and in that, it succeeded (in my view).
Anyway...
I saw Star Wars III last night....it was pretty cool. It starts off nice and '70s-esque cheesie fighting/one-liners (which is just fine), but the movie has a great underlying plot and everything fits together pretty well. Great flick. Loved it.

Saw "Land of the Dead" the other day. I don't suggest doing the same. Although, if you know what to expect, it'd probably be worth your time (for a cheap showtime). There are some theaters around here that have "Twilight" showtimes, which are signifigantly cheaper. It's probably the best "of the dead" Romero movie. (sadly)

Last night I watched National Treasure and Spinal Tap. I like NT, but found it really predictable.
I love Spinal Tap. "But this one goes to eleven." Awesome.

Saw War of the Worlds last night. I think everyone involved in it has fully redeemed themselves for crap projects they've done in the (relativly) recent past. (David Koepp, however, has many strikes against his record, not that they're bad, but they'd be better without him. The difference between Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 is proof).
But, "War" is done very well. I strongly suggest seeing it in theaters, a nice theater at that. I doubt I would have had the same experience in a lower rate theater, since the sound has many low tones that are there really to shake things. The first time the "tipods" (that's what they're called) came out of the ground, I could feel it, which really added to the film, to be honest.
Because, in general, nothing really happens in the book or film (and as far as I can tell, the film is pretty close, far better then the 50s version, even though that was alright for the time)
The other thing I noticed after the first 20 minutes or so of the movie. I have full confidence in a hl2 based movie. FULL. I can see Mark Laidlaw, and the art designers, drew a lot from Wells' book.
When the movie was over, I was talking with my friend and I was like, "You, know if they did make a movie based on hl2. It'd be like that, but with fighting back".
It's gotten my hopes up.
That should be another reason to see it, besides the awesome.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I saw Assault on Precinct 13 the other day and I thought it was
laughably bad. I don't know why, but the acting just seemed very
off. Like it wasn't quite an A grade movie. Almost like a
soap opera feel. The action was briefly entertaining but my
friends and I spent most of the time making fun of the acting and the
movie itself.
I wouldn't recommend it.

I saw last time on TV an extremely intriguing scene: two naked women making push-ups in front of some masked armed men. The one who stops first gets shot in the head, the other is left free... After a lot of googling I discovered that this movie is called "Bridget", but I can't find it here in the stores (The only Bridgets they have are Bridget Jones). I'd however recommend this movie, for people who appreciate this kind of things.

I thought War of the Worlds was alright. I mean, there was
nothing wrong with it that I could really think of, but for some reason
I just wasn't drawn into the story... I didn't really care... I didn't
need/want to keep watching. I guess I didn't feel invested in the
characters or their lives, or captivated by the story in general.
I think it may be because the invading alien thing has been beaten to
death already.
As for the ending, it wasn't much of a surprise, since it wasn't exactly an original story or anything

Went to see War of the Worlds not expecting much, just another generic
action blockbuster thing, after seeing the trailers. But it was
actually quite compelling, with some decent acting, the daughter i
thought did a great job. Pity about the ending...
The bassy droning the aliens did was excellent too, a great choice of sound effect imo

well considering the book was written in the end of the 19th century and had the same ending i would have to say that it was incredibly original.

No no no, I'm not saying that the ending was trite or overdone.
I'm saying the ending shouldn't have been a surprise since the War of
the Worlds story has been around since 1898, when H.G. Wells first
published it... not to mention Orson Welles' famous 1938 broadcast, or
the 1953 movie. When I said "since it wasn't exactly an original
story or anything" I meant it shouldn't have come as a surprise to most
of us since we all know the story. I guess I should have said
"since it wasn't exactly a new story or anything." Bad word
choice, but I'm not an idiot.

Actually, a lot of people have no idea how War of the Worlds ends, at least that's what I can summize from experience. All they know about it is that aliens invade earth. So, I suppose, if you didn't see it coming (or already knew) it'd seem like a bad ending. I think it panned out very well. There were things they changed, for obvious reasons. Such as, they never actually said the aliens came from Mars (which would make a lot more of the story make sense) and the reason they took that out in the new film is simply because it's based in current time, we've gone to Mars, it'd be retarded to explain that.
It also would have been much worse if they tried to explain the aliens or much of anything else. This is about the best adaptation there could be of the book, I think (with in reason, of course).

Additionally, the ending isn't really that abrupt when you consider the
fact that it is consistent with the manner in which they opened the
movie -- with a Morgan Freeman voiceover.
Besides I don't really see where else they could have gone with the ending, or how they could have taken it further.

I work at AMC, so I see most of he movies before they even come out,
untill recently when I was here for the screenings, but I have to say,
I loved War of the Worlds, its the kind of plot I've wanted to see in a
movie, but true I hated the ending. I'd have rather liked it Wes
Craven style with the Alien invasion not dying , but still alive to
fight. Anyway, I've not seen mny movies latly because my motto is, "Go
to the screenings, or don't go at all." Why go to a packed movie,
when you can lounge out in a almost empty theatre. I'll be
catching up on my movies this thursday when I work till 4:00 pm and the
screenings only start at 9:00 pm, its a waste of gas for me to leave
and go back.
Boy, do I make my posts over extended!
You know, I've actually got nothing to say

The Tim Burton version is so bad. Even though they did such a good job on the actual apes. The old version is good ... to a point.
Three gets on my nurves. Four is pretty cool. Five should have never been made really. I think two is my favorite. Way to go Charlton, you blew up the world.

Warning: Spoilers of War of the Worlds in this post.
I thought War of the Worlds was a good movie (saw it today). I didn't
think the ending made much sense either but it did follow the original
ending which is what people should complaining about. A million years
of planning and the aliens forgot to bring along their Children's
Tylenol. The way the people died in the movie was a bit disturbing.
They were disingrated and also made into furtilizer. I felt bad for
them. I don't understand how that dumbass kid Robby survived. The movie
would've been better if they kept him and the grandparents along with
the mom and Tim dead, instead of having them magically survive the
whole ordial. All I have left to say is that Tom Cruise was a lucky
sucker in that movie. I counted several instances in which he should've
died but just barely survived. The Tripods reminded me of giant
Striders.

One last question before I turn in for the night. How can there be a spoiler for a movie that has at least one other video version and one radio broadcast?
I mean seriously, this is like saying "Spoiler" about the Titanic, or the Challenger, or Pearl Harbour.
Please clarify how the term "fits" this movie please.

I saw the original film years ago. The aliens looked somewhat similar
but in the original they only showed a hand. The rest were machines.

The original film wasn't close to the book either.
Actually, if you thought about it. If you studied another planet and there was some thing on it that harmed you (which you wouldn't know about) it could be easily overlooked, we've done similar things in the past. (For God's sake, we made unit assumptions knowing full well the partner company used the opposite)
Also, don't take what characters say in movies to be literal. Think about Tim Robbins' character, what the f**k does that guy know? The only thing that is even hinted at in the entire scheme is that at some point, before we had complete massive civilizations EVERYWHERE, machines were buried in the ground.
Not to mention they never go into what actually happens outside the US, they just hint at how bad it could be.
Well, to be honest, none of the adaptations of War of the Worlds will be the ones you're familiar with if you read the book. They're all modernized, because otherwise the impact would be lost.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
