Now, men are scared about the sizes of their penises. In the future, it'll be how much processing power you have.
That said, what are your PC's specs? I got myself an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ @ 1.8Ghz, crapy ECS K7VMM+ motherboard, 512MB PC2100 DDR RAM, Sapphire ATi Radeon 9600 w/ 256MB VRAM, 40GB HDD (not sure on RPM). Soon I'll be purchasing a wonderful AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and an Asus K8N, so I can clock it up to just under 3Ghz! Nice!

I don't think so. You ever tried pleasuring a woman with a circuit board?

On second thoughts, don't answer that :heee:

2.8 P4*
512 PC4000**
6800GT
60 and 120 GB Maxtors***
17" CRT monitor... can't see myself going to TFT for at least a couple of years.

*It's only running at 3.1 because of stupid prime95  If I put it higher, everything is fine, except prime95 gets a rounding error after only around 5 minutes...

**Think I should get another 512 before DDR2 properly takes over, and DDR prices start to rise.

***I have totally run out of space, so probably going to replace the 60 with maybe a 250 or 300 if they come down in price, or more likely a 200, since they are cheap already.

Also I would quite like one of those new logitech 'laser' wireless mice, but I'm not sure if I can justify ?45 on a mouse

Pentium4 2.4GHz
Intel i845GEBV2 Motherboard, 533MHz FSB
512MB DDR RAM at 266MHz
Geforce4 MX 440, 64MB RAM, AGP 4x
60GB HDD (40+20) Both seagate barracudas
Creative Ensoniq AudioPCI Sound card. old, but has EAX capabilities
Standard boring tower cabinet
EXXTREME NATURE? COOLING TECHNOLOGY (aka "leave case open")
Crappy 15" monitor
Samsung 52/24/52 combo CD (read/rewrite/write)

There's nothing I really "need" to upgrade. Also everything I want to upgrade, especially GFXcard and Monitor. Maybe need to buy a DVD drive.

*edit: Other stuff:

Old Desktop: Runs Mandrake 7.1, Win98 (solely HLDM  )
P2 (celeron) 333Mhz
64MB RAM
4.3GB HDD
No Soundcard. No onboard sound.
SiS 6215C 2MB 2d video card
13" monitor

Laptop:
P3 933MHz
128MB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 7x00. Not sure exactly.

And there's also an NEC Ultralite laptop, of which I strongly suspect the processor is missing :/ Doesnt have a HDD. Used to boot directly from a 3 1/2" floppy. UBAR.

if, by change you are referring to bowing to the less talented among us.. its not likely to happen soon.. my goals are lofty enough to always be important. i'll be damned if i am going to stop promoting people.. look at you, your skills have vastly improved, if not directly due to me, then indirectly due to the atmosphere i helped to create at the snarkpit.. if this had been any other forum, you might have been blown off.. you could have still become as good as you are today.. but not here.

whether you like it or not, i helped to create everything you value here..

heh, dont need to worry about it now - im slightly rich as of yesterday
 i could probably have afforded a new PC, but earning a wage has also
had a direct correlation with being at taxable age, and discovering the
beauty of women, beer, pot.. you know - the usual

edit: as for the point about doing charity things, i've actually given
some of my rejected parts (can't quite fathom how i've had any with
the age of this machine) to a scheme which they run in Derby (my home
city) - to export PC's to India and the schools over there

sadly, my standards are so low, that anything i reject is trash indeed..

i just took, 30-40 keyboards, and a bunch of old multi-plexors to the goodwill..

people do give me stuff (actually i still end up buying most of it) but mostly its pre 1997 stuff..

the largest pc so far is a 233.. at least till tracers 300 arrives.. yeah tracer

Orphues I got an old Packard Bell if you want it. I have no use for it. Also as for my PC specs they should look like this very soon. Drool now drool.

P4 3.2ghz with HT

<DIV class=point_small id=m_3>1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 400MHz (2x512M)</DIV>
160gb ATA hard drive

128mb Radeon 9800pro

17" flat panel monitor

All packaged in a Dell for just $1200

I also get a sweet 4 year service warrenty.

i used to think it was okay for the things i do but this new map makes hlvis take 20+hours and makes hlrad run out of memory so i actually had to delete an entire section to be able to compile it. (and yeh i tried all the tools including the zhlt3beta and cagey p15)
