If the humor is lost on you, don't worry. You've got to be a pretty big dork to think this is funny. This is a street near to the labs at which I work, so I am quite certain it was intentional. It is surround by other streets such as Proton way, and Neutron court. etc.

Just greate.

I should know all of these. Spent my time at technical college (maths and physics). Since I graduated I never used all the cool maths stuff. Forgotten, all of it.

sgn(5)=1
sgn(-3)=-1
sgn(0)=0

thats kinda it.... isn't it?

"ln" is common notation for the natural logarithm (log to the base e (≈ 2.7)). Still lost? Logarithms are the "opposite" of exponentials: so if 32 = 9, then log 9 (to base 3) = 2. Look at your scientific calculator...

/deflates what little joke there was

Don't worry, I don't think logarithms are really taught to many people
your age, but if you take maths a few years down the line you'll
certainly run into them

In my area you learn Logs in either algerbra 2 or a pre-calculus course.
They are easy for those who haven't done them, they look hard in the beggining, but are pretty simple.

To get something to work, sometimes you just have to beat your head against the wall longer; the skin grows back, but the brick doesn't.

In New York we got math b. . . which is like an advanced geometry kinda
thing. This is the course you would learn logarithms and those things
in. I'm done with logs, as well as the first year of math b (it's a 1
1/2 year course) and they were really easy once you got into it. But I
like math anyway. In September I'm supposed to finish math b then take
pre-calc and then calc. All in my sophmore year at high school.
