Quake 4? YAWN worthy if you ask me. I'm bored of quake and UT style games. I want something different.

Bored of plain old FPS games, even found HL2 a little repetitive, which
is why BF2 was so appealing and why I am interested in FEAR. Anyone
know what sort of scores FEAR has been getting?
Hello there.

I hate all these mutiplayer-only games nowadays.
What happened to the beauty and art of game design? That's why I primarily make single-player maps. It's all about getting into the head of the player and play psychological games with him.
I like messing with people's mind, because I have a pretty twisted one myself.

Quake 4 has a SP campaign. It's where you're "part-monster" to combat the evil threat or some garbage. Looks pretty though.
I'm sure it'll be a good LAN game and will have memorable (id style) moments in the SP.
As for that MoH comment ... try playing the game before you say something silly like: you can't jump. Not sure if you're talking about the original, AA, or PA. Which are all completely different.
I don't think I've ever had a problem with reloading at improper times. You always have to take a break behind a corner to reload ... The only thing that was a complete pain in the ass was Sniper City in AA. Jesus.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I just found a Quake 4 sp video on a cd. Yeah looks like you become one of them. But wouldn't they put a mind control thing in you so you wouldn't turn against them or something? It would be cool to fight with the bad guys against the marines, maybe the I wouldn't get so freaked going up a dark corridor. Although it doesn't look like it because the player is fighting an alien spider-battleship thing in a part of the preview. I wonder how then the marines would notice you and not kill you on sight then if that is so.

I've been playing a lot of Operation Flashpoint online lately. I just
LOVE how realistic this game is. Nothing more fun than 5 soldiers
embarking a CH-47D only to be tossed into a building by the n00b pilot or
cussing at your driver because he drove your tank into an obvious enemy
ambush.
The only FPS currently worthy of attention is STALKER: Oblivion Lost
(aka Shadow of Chernobyl) which not only looks great but sounds
original aswell.
As for MOHAA...one of the best games ever made.
[edit]
Oh, and Flashpoint 2. But I can hardly call it a FPS. I'd rather call it a combat simulation.

graphics is sweet !!Apart from the guys who said it sucks, i really disagree,

That goes to show just how much you know about it's storyline given the fact that any 3rd grader knows Chernobyl is in Ukraine. I assume (and hope) that you were simply ignorant of the storyline and not of such a famous incident.

Dude, it blatantly moves onto Russia. I did know chernobyl was in the Ukraine, one of my best m8s comes from Ukraine. What I'm getting at is that I assumed the mass market user who would relate more evil experiments etc to Russians as they are more commonly known.

Stalker's concept sounds good. They brag a lot about their AI. Also what is the exact title of a book called? I'd like to read it before playing the game.

Thanks for the title of the book. Has anybody seen the stalker movie? If so is it any good?

I really wish that Stalker would come out of its dark hole and blow everyone away....That would be nice. That said, I'm not very optimistic about this game. Last I heard, they were trying to finish up the 'Living A.I.' ecosystem or whatever the hell they are calling it.
My gut tells me that it will have Beautiful environments, weak gameplay. I get very dubious anytime I hear of 'advanced A.I.' that thinks for itself, and delivers multitudes of fun, because it can 'outsmart the player, and use cover, and use the environment, and make toast, and call for backup, and has it's own internal desires like food and sex and healthcare...blah, blah' If this game is banking on this A.I. system to deliver the 'fun', it could very well end up being a beautiful flop. It also worries me that the game has sunk into obscurity for so long. Here's to hoping I'm wrong. Maybe they will drop that s**t like the righteous hammer of god, and make every other developer cry like a baby.

I might buy Q4 just so that I can say I have played the game when I really stick it to people. Although I do like my money and wasting 50 bucks on a game that I know will be a typical Raven mediocre snoozefest doesn't seem too appealing, especially when I can buy a real game like AoE3 or Civ4.

After the disappointment of Civ 3 I hope 4 makes up for the loss. I was so counting on 3 to be all that and a bag of chips.
After the disappointment of 3 however, I am reserving my judgment. I do not want to jinx any chance 4 will be better.
For the record, I loved all the quakes, but miss the coop playstyle option.
