PMS Clan rules prohibit "belittling or attacking others in any way,

30-page member manual? I wouldn't like to sound like an ass here, but why do women always take these things into extremes?

I doubt that FPS' will ever get any popular with women. But a surprising amount of girls seems to play WoW nowadays. Everyone seems to play that, even my teacher admitted the other day (he's male but still far away from usual gaming target groups). Wouldn't mind if games loose their nerd image, especially in Europe.

I almost feel ashamed for not having found this map earlier (considering it's out for over a year). I just came across it on a server and was stunned. I think it's my favourite HL2DM map now. The lighting, the architecture, all the different places you can go. Very HL2-ish but also a breath of fresh air. I would have made a positive comment in the forum thread or a good rating in the map profile but once again the Snarkpit doesn't let me (the profile links to a 4 months old post that may not be answered). Can someone open it or Agent Smith, maybe release the map as final?

Excellent map.

Recently found out that "friends with benefits" is just another name for "f**k buddies".

I seriously did not know this. I just thought it meant they were really good friends after two people break up.

God I swear I'm such an idiot sometimes.

I tried. Without actually editing his profile map page, I cannot alter the map in any way to where you can post. Now I think I can edit the page but, I would feel much more comfortable if you contacted Mr. Smith and asked him to set the count to 100% complete.

Let me know what he decides.

I got the fourth and fifth books in the Foundation series by Asimov. If you're curious the Foundation trilogy I bought before was and is a single physical book. It just has the first three "books". Anyway, $5 for all 5 books doesn't bother me much.

Unless my mind has slipped, there are 7 total books in the foundation series. Not counting the robot and any other offshoots.

Its rather important to find the prequel Crono.

/me searches google.

I am really pressed for time but I think this covers the series.

This f**king godammed site erased it AS I WAS COPY/PASTING IT!!!!!!

to make a long story short, my wife and I had lifes that overlapped for over 2 years before we actually met. It was weird to compare notes about events that happened 20 years before...

I know there was a working train that worked that way in Japan. Since, that was the only country that would allow the train to go that fast. Maybe it was a prototype at the time. But I remember seeing the working thing. This was in like ... '97 or so.

I don't know, but my point is that the idea of using the magnets to float it so it doesn't create friction is quite old and has been in use for a long time.

I know that they're doing new research in Japan to increase their speed to something ludicrous, but the trains have been around for awhile.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best,
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left;
These so-called vacations will soon be my death,
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest.

We arrived in December and London was cold,
So we stayed in the bars along Charing Cross Road;
We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak,
Kept the shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best,
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left;
These so-called vacations will soon be my death,
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest.

Euston Station, the train journey north,
In the buffet car we lurched back and forth;
Past odd crooked dykes through Yorkshire's green fields,
We were flung into dance as the train jigged and reeled.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best,
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left;
These so-called vacations will soon be my death,
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest.

By the light of the moon she'd drift through the streets,
A rare old perfume so seductive and sweet;
She'd tease us and flirt as the pubs all closed down,
Then walk us on home and deny us a round.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best,
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left;
These so-called vacations will soon be my death,
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest.

The gas heater's empty, it's damp as a tomb,
And the spirits we drank like a ghost in the room;
I'm knackered again, come on, please take me soon,
And don't lift up my head till the twelve bells at noon.

....ahahah :smile:

Recently found a word. A word I am so proud to have found that I am willing to share it with everyone. A word that describes so many of us... If not perfectly, then close enough to make you sit up and take notice..

I am sure that its not a new word to most of you, but its brand spanking new to me.

Word befitting of notice.

There seems to be a s**tload of definitions but this is the story:

I was reading a trivia book and it said:

Define Demagogue?

Answer: Agitator,Ring leader, Rabble Rouser.

I loved those definitions.

The Wiki definition seems a bit more broad spectrum but I still see many of the attributes described here in many of us.

Oh ok. Since wiki is banned here I had to go to m-w.com and these are the two definitions offered:
m-w.com said:
1 : a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power
2 : a leader championing the cause of the common people in ancient times
Neither of those definitions seem to apply. I personally like the "rabble rouser" definition offered by the trivia book, because it makes me think of the south park episode with an angry mob shouting "rabble! rabble rabble!"

I was a bit miffed about the racist part too. It almost caused me to not post this.

I didn't want anyone to feel that I was accusing them of racism.. I liked the book definitions though so opted that no one would be upset if the topic were to arise as a racial slur.

Actually, I read racists somewhere.. Perhaps thats to strong a word.

Everyone is not racist, but everyone is prejudiced in some way so thats not so bad a definition.

Wikipedia is censored because it has open discussion on the rights and
wrongs of the world, open articles about the effect of the Three Gorges

world? I'd say many new posters, not speaking out of turn - and not
wanting to play into "age is wisdom" camp need to wake up and smell the

Sigh

I know you were drunk when you posted that, Gwil, but maybe now you can tell me what the heck you mean by it!
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

my guess is that rather than come straight out and say, "wtf, you thought we were joking about Chinese censorship, wake up, noob!!!", Gwil tried in his drunken haze to be nice about it.

I was amazed that someone was surprised to see China censoring websites.

Sorry reaper47 :razz: I don't usually pounce on people like that. Honest.

lol, Gwil no need to be sorry. I wasn't really surprised, but it's the first time I heared Wikipedia is closed in China, too. I knew of the google cencorship for "certain things" but never heared about Wikipedia. The whole Wikipedia.

Also I thought of all the software piracy in China. It seems like it's a hardly persecuted because it's just the capitalist's law anyways (my personal interpretation of the obvious). Now there is a site which is completely free, created by the communal spirit of its users and China cencors it because they're afraid people could see how China f**ked up in many ways and they block it. A bit ironic but not fully thought through from my side.

I recently found out that I don't want to be a chef after all....

I'm going to look into audio/visual jobs in the media instead.
